Name the better decade.

it has to do with anything - metal, TV shows, fashion, women, cars, anything.

I'd go with the 80s. I've got some great memories of playing Nintendo and trying to find the last dungeon in Zelda. Of course, there's other memories.. I think.

Hellhammer, Bathory, Metroid, Punch-Out, Sarcofago, Oil Can Boyd, Cocaine-fueled Darryl Strawberry (rather than Cocaine-Destroyed Darryl), Iron Mike Tyson

If you really think about it, the 1980's were the last decade of distinct culture in America. Even if it was pretty gay.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Jan 12,2009 10:30am
i think both decades were great, but i have to agree and say that the 80's were the last defined culture. the 90's did have plenty of its own, but it was the brink of the downfall of everything.

toggletoggle post by xmikex at Jan 12,2009 10:31am
snap bracelets ruined everything.

i was watching Back to the Future yesterday and was thinking how much easier shit was back in 1985. even the scene where Strickland is telling Marty he is a slacker, if that happened now there would be lawsuits and firings and media bullshit. back then you took it and dealt with it. if you complained to your parents about it, they told you you probably deserved it.

I think the early 90s was pretty rad, NOT. nah, it was cool. I think the 90s started to die out around 1995. 1990-1995 was really interesting.

Encino Man = early 90s. The fashoin in that movie is so fucking hilarious. I forgot how people dressed back in 1991.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Jan 12,2009 10:48am
i am very happy to have grown up in the 90's, they weren't as pure as the previous decades, but it was still a time that had new and exciting things. not like this past decade which was a grotesque rehashing of everything previously thought of.

toggletoggle post by tylor  at Jan 12,2009 11:15am
in the 80s i had three open heart surgeries
in the 90s i watched power rangers, played pop warner football, and got pubes

i'm gonna go with the 90s

80s: before this country became a third world concentration camp with corporate overlords.

toggletoggle post by pam   at Jan 12,2009 1:52pm
My daughter came home with a snap bracelet she made for me last week. It was weird.

As for the question I'm going to say 90s.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jan 12,2009 2:30pm

the 80s, although "gay" by today's standards, was a very unique time. it seems that after this year, I'll remember the 00s as the digital age, family guy, ipods, shitty radio music, and lots of beer drinking and weed smoking.

toggletoggle post by SkinSandwich at Jan 13,2009 9:20am edited Jan 13,2009 9:22am
late 70's early 80's I enjoyed those times. Haha, the fucked up shit I saw! I was born in 73 so I had the time to see some fucked up shit. especially in my family and where I grew up.

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Jan 13,2009 9:24am
i will remember this decade as a rehash of all the gay things about the 80s. the thing that makes this decade worse than the 80s is that it's an ironic take on everything that was considered cool in the 80s. fuck this decade.

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Jan 13,2009 9:30am
oh damn. you're right. when all the "retro" shit came out the past couple of years. shit doesn't even come close to holding a candle to the magic of the 80s. fucking wannabe decade.

toggletoggle post by rbss at Jan 13,2009 10:43am
Late 80s through early 90s are my favorite

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Jan 13,2009 12:42pm
I'm a chlid of the 80's and no one i loved died yet so 80's for me.

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Jan 13,2009 12:42pm
actually 1990/1 were good because the two loves of my life were born and still had my dad.

toggletoggle post by your average jew at Jan 13,2009 1:03pm
