Guitarist/vocalist Rob Urbinati of the reunited Canadian thrashers SACRIFICE has issued the following update:

"[It] was nice to have Scott Watts [bass] in Toronto for a week, in from Vancouver. Gus [Pynn, drums], myself and Scott rehearsed a few new songs, a few old ones and the usual [BLACK] SABBATH songs we always play. New material is coming along great, but slowly, and can't wait to have Joe Rico [guitar] up here in about a month to go over the new stuff too."

In an interview with Metal-Rules.com conducted last fall, Urbinati was asked about the direction of the material that is slated to appear group's upcoming "comeback" CD. "I would say it's more on the side of classic SACRIFICE," he said. "I don't want to say there's new elements thrown in, because it makes people go 'Fuck, this sucks!,' but there's not much of that. That's what we've talked about, too — as much as I love LAMB OF GOD or something, I don't want SACRIFICE to sound like that. I want it to sound like a thrash band. I don't want it to be a thrash band, with new influences. It has to be balls-out fuckin' thrash, from when you press play until it stops. If it's not gonna be that, we're just gonna say 'Fuck it.'"

Let's just hope they tour stateside!

FUCKING SACRIFICE!
