New site? Maybe some day.

I picked up the Stench Of Redemptation it fucking blows! Ralph is a good guitarist as fas as leads go. But he really out of place in Deicide. Jack Owen is progressively getting worse. Jack alternate picks scales and does the most basic of finger tapping. Jack's lead are terrible compared to Ralph's leads. And both of their lead solos don't fit the Deicide sound. Its way to melodic for deicide. Its not the Kick ASS Deicide, we got from the Hoffmans. Glenn just sounds lost. Steve knows what he's doing. In conclusion with out Eric & Brian Hoffman Deicide is doomed. I just needed to get this out me, I'm feeling better. |
It's getting great reviews everywhere.
What?! I thought it was a pretty decent release. I'm enjoying it a lot, much more than the past few albums, most definately. |
Isn't this like the 4th thread about this release? |
Uhh have you heard the Deicide albums after Once upon the cross....You should be upset that they suck really bad...The hoffman brother's can't write for shit anymore...I think the new deicide is really good..Also don't forget the basic scale leads the hoffmans play on Once upon the cross |
the new deicide is different. they have A LOT more actually leads and the tracks are packed with actually non-death metal riffs. I figured it was ralph's influence, but what do I know. |
But you are The Reverend, You are supposed to know all!! |
the new Deicide is so fucking good!! |
It's a great album, oh for shame, they made a record that is actually MUSICAL! We must hate them, they are no longer tr00ly br00tal! |
Scott, check the Ex Agenda myspace. |
Just checked. Unfortunately we cannot play Monday, I have a commitment that I can't get out of. Thanks for thinking of us though! |
Bummer. No problem, it won't be the last time. |

Yeah, okay! |
I'm just partial to Benton's gutturals, but yeah I did notice more melodic lead guitar work. A Deep Purple cover, to boot! |

'Deicide' and 'Legion' are better than anthing Nile has ever done.
Nile is better than any Deicide after the first two though. |
I like those too. Nile, Pyrexia, Bolt Thrower and Aborted are my favs. |
Nile is so boring. I don't understand their popularity.
I like the new Deicide a lot, and I expected it to suck. |

it seems that most people i know hate nile or find them very boring. |

You have good taste in death metal. Pyrexia's 'Sermon of Mockery' is vastly underappreciated. |
The Hoffmans were hardly writing any of the music...that is part of what the whole feud was about. Steve was writing most of it. I dig the new CD a lot. |

I think it's pretty good. |

By the standards and limitations of older Deicide, I can see how the new album falls short, but I think expanding into a broader array of riffs and more melodic approach is a very good thing; it only makes the most abrasive parts sound that much more abrasive in comparison. Dynamics = Great Metal. |

hahaha. i'm kinda with you on that. they're waaaaay too serious looking all the time. the whole image of glen benton ruins the music for me.
i guess it doesn't suck, i just don't like it too much.

See, I think Sermon is rubbish. It sounds just like all the rest of the imitators (cookie monster vox). When Keith Devito was with them, they fuckin ruled. |
i love nile but im pretty fucking tired of bolt thrower
The new Deicide is great. I really don't like Glenns vocals on it though. They seem really lazy like he threw together the lyrics at the last minute. But musicly it's the Decide since once upon the cross. I hope super shredder does play that show at the middle east. |
I think Glen's vocals on the new deicide and VR are brutal. Not as vicious and biting as on OUtC but very deep and guttural. I'm diggin' it! |
The notorious Dug has spoken.. |
'Legion' is the only Deicide album I ever liked; their first album sounded horrible, Legion was fucking killer, and everything after that sounds like half-assed shit. |

you are HERE....POSTING?, Do you work? |
I'm listenign to this now, I'm really digging it, I like the added sense of melody. the lead work is really good too. |
The new Deicide is the best album they have recorded in their history, 1000 times way better than the old boring shit, the Hoffman brothers should have left a long time ago, I hope they keep making albums like that. |
scales. you refer to scales when reviewing a band? fucking nerd. i heard homage to satan on sirius satellite, thought it was killer. |
i did give it a listen but i havent deicided if i liked it yet...........GAY |

nile is one of the few tech death metal bands i still like.
i do find their last 2 releases boring. |
This album fucking kills!!! |
I like it, it still KINDA sounds like Hoffman Bros. Deicide, but less atonal |
