Usually Centralia, PA makes these lists and I have to point out that Centralia really isn't all that cool IRL.

Eastern State Penitentiary is worth seeing if you've got a couple hours to spare in Philly.

Eastern State Penitentiary was way better than Alcatraz. Twice the size and less people

Alcatraz can eat a ravioli. I went to San Francisco a few years ago and figured yeah sure I'll do an Alcatraz about it. When I got there I found out you've got to buy your tickets weeks, if not months in advance and the price goes up exponentially. Fuck that. Went record shopping instead.

Alcatraz was NOT worth the effort and money. Cool place, but I'd have more fun wiping my ass with poison ivy than going back there.

someone I chat with on-the-fb took a trip to centralia. I still don't know what it is. Something about a superfund site or other.
