They have SO many releases. I only have a couple of the main full lengths (Evoke, Karmagmassacre, Sabbatrinity on LP/CD and The Dwelling mp3). What other releases should I seek out?

Satanasword is essential listening.

I mostly listen to EnVenom and all their early shit.

Karmagmassacre is probably my favorite of what I have already. The riffs there a pretty complex and mean.

The "Sabbatical Holocaust" compilation is really good. It contains their rare, early EP's. Their older stuff is a bit less technical. Kind of Venom-ish.

All of their full-lengths are solid for the most part. I can't think of one I don't like. "Karisma" is one I'd say is worth seeking out.

It's all the the endless Live albums/EP's you want to avoid.

And Metalucifer is a must listen for all Sabbat fans.

There's tons of pictures of that show on this site... I still kick myself to this day for missing it. Sabbat was one of the earliest metal bands I got into.

toggletoggle post by chrisREX at Feb 22,2012 10:28pm
Wow! I had no idea they played here. I feel like a jackass for not getting into them until last year.

woooo, I like this thread! Reminds me of the old days when we used to talk music on this here board see....

Sabbatical Holocaust was the first release I ever got which is a good intro. From there I got Live Resurrection and Live Sabbatical Hamaguri Queen. Recently I've aquired copies of Sabbatrinity LP and Fetishism which are the only pure albums I actually have. Probably the most challenging band in the world to collect. If you don't want to jump into live collections then stay focused on finding the Full Lengths,

Envenom '91
Evoke '92
Disembody '93
Fetishism '94
The Dwelling '96
Karisma '99

DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THE MIDDLE EAST SHOW WAS RECORDED????? THEY TYPICALLY TRACK EVERY SET. JOE BOOKED IT, LIL HELP PLEASE!!

gotta be honest though, I FUCKING LOVE METALUCIFER more than SABBAT and would flip out if they ever played here.

I'm with you on that. Anyone who thinks Sabbat is better than Metalucifer needs to leave the hall.

toggletoggle post by Lamp  at Feb 23,2012 2:50pm
Are Sabbat and Metalucifer the same people?

toggletoggle post by chrisREX at Feb 23,2012 2:58pm
Yes, but Metalucifer is like the Manowar version of Sabbat, therefore, WAY BETTER.

Heavy Metal Bulldozer is essential.
