CANNIBAL CORPSE: Reigning Kings Of Death Metal Set To Release Twelfth Studio Album
Artwork, Track Listing And First Single Revealed

America's reigning kings of brutality, CANNIBAL CORPSE, will unleash their twelfth studio offering this March via Metal Blade Records. Aptly titled Torture, the follow-up to 2009's Evisceration Plague offers up 12 tracks of maniacally precise, soul-searing death metal. Torture was again produced by Hate Eternal's Erik Rutan at his own Mana Recording Studio in St. Petersburg, Florida as well as Sonic Ranch in Tornillo, Texas, and features the maniacal cover art by longtime CANNIBAL CORPSE artist, Vincent Locke, viewable HERE.

While Torture marks the latest progression in the band's sound, it also witnesses a return to what drummer Paul Mazurkiewicz accurately terms "the frenzied attack of Butchered At Birth (1991) or Tomb Of The Mutilated (1992)," infusing the band's advanced musicianship with the raw savagery that haunted their earlier releases, and in the process conceiving the definitive CANNIBAL CORPSE record. Adds bassist Alex Webster on the outcome of the record: "We're extremely happy with how Torture turned out. Erik Rutan did an amazing job with the production, and the songwriting and performances may be our strongest yet. We can't wait until our fans get to hear the whole thing!"

Witness the gutting sounds of "Demented Aggression," the band's first single, as well as studio footage, at the official CANNIBAL CORPSE landing page, at THIS LOCATION.

Torture Track Listing:
01. Demented Aggression
02. Sarcophagic Frenzy
03. Scourge of Iron
04. Encased in Concrete
05. As Deep As the Knife Will Go
06. Intestinal Crank
07. Followed Home Then Killed
08. The Strangulation Chair
09. Caged…Contorted
10. Crucifier Avenged
11. Rabid
12. Torn Through

As a precursor to the release, CANNIBAL CORPSE will perform a special one-off show at the Culture Room in West Palm Beach, Florida on January 22nd then head to the seas to take part in this year's edition of the 70,000 Tons Of Metal Cruise. The band will get a short break before a near month-long march through Europe on the Full Of Hate 2012 tour with labelmates Behemoth.

Torture will be released in North America on March 13, 2012.

CANNIBAL CORPSE:
Alex Webster - Bass
Paul Mazurkiewicz - Drums
Rob Barrett - Guitar
Patrick O'Brien - Guitar
George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher - Vocals

Evisceration Plague was good, but i think i'm all set listening to anything new. "Followed Home Then Killed" is a pretty lame song title.

At what point did Cannibal Corpse become Dethklok? Those are the safest most unoffensive song titles in death metal.

Wonder if "Torn Through" will be a slow-paced instrumental track

toggletoggle post by KEVORD  at Jan 16,2012 2:07pm
As sad as it sounds and I never thought I'd say these words but it might be time for them to do a Chris Barnes reunion.

Stopped caring about them years ago.

toggletoggle post by AndrewBastard  at Jan 16,2012 2:22pm
who dubbed them reigning kings of DM?

toggletoggle post by KEVORD  at Jan 16,2012 2:31pm
Mayhem after Cannibal Corpse crowned them the reigning kings of Black Metal.

And album titles...

Compare "Torture" and "Kill" to "Eaten Back to Life" and "Tomb of the Mutilated" and the lack of finesse is as clear as a brand new window.

The Bleeding was the only album I liked front to back.

I mean...it's not the worst thing I've ever heard, but I can't help but feel like it's waaaaaaaay over produced. Also, there is absolutely nothing distinct about that track whatsoever.

toggletoggle post by demondave at Jan 17,2012 8:00am

I liked it. Maybe its because I have a soft spot for cannibal corpse. It seems pretty good.

toggletoggle post by Spaldino at Jan 17,2012 8:12am
it is good. they SERRRRRRRRRIOOOOOUUUUUUSSSLYYYYYY need to kick out their drummer and get anyone thats started playing drums in the last 2 years. it would be a huge improvement. they can contact derek roddy, im sure he would love to gig with them...

toggletoggle post by zyklon at Jan 17,2012 9:54am
Best shit they ever put out was the the bleeding.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Jan 17,2012 10:35am
false. his vocals suck on The Bleeding.

toggletoggle post by ark at Jan 17,2012 10:36am
Derek Roddy would add absolutely nothing to this band.

blah blah
blahblahblah
blah blah
blahblahblah
blahblahblahblahblahblahblah

you need a new writing style Mr. Corpsegrinder.

This track is pretty solid. I don't get it spaldino, do you want more fills? Quad speed blasts? Plenty of bands out there that do that. CC has never had flashy drumming, the music just doesn't need it.

toggletoggle post by ark at Jan 17,2012 10:44am
And yeah I think if anything should change about this band it's Corpsegrinder.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Jan 17,2012 10:44am
it's not bad, it just sounds like an extension of the last 40 albums.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Jan 17,2012 10:46am
his voice is really starting to go, i'd love to hear how bad the unpolished version sounds. its like Martin Van Drunen, his voice sounds horrendous on Hail of Bullets. these guys have torn their voices apart for decades.

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Jan 17,2012 10:47am
This band died in the 90s.

toggletoggle post by ark at Jan 17,2012 10:48am
Ah yeti I disagree, martin's vocals always do it for me.

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Jan 17,2012 10:52am
Honestly, IMHO, time for CC to hang it up.

toggletoggle post by ark at Jan 17,2012 10:55am
Well yeah. I'd love to see Alex Webster do something else

toggletoggle post by largefreakatzero at Jan 17,2012 11:17am
Meh. The Bleeding is the only album I care about with Barnes and Vile is the only one worth listening to with Corpsegrinder. Other than that, this band bores me.

Heh...if you subtract one "blah" from the last line, this would be EXACTLY a vocal part from the Freak Kitchen song "Speak When Spoken To". I love them.
