Boston based homeless charity Stop The Bleeding is looking for 5 hardcore metal bands with all ages followings to play our upcoming homeless benefit show on June 18th at The Raven in Worcester. So let's see if I understand this site - somebody posts something, then somebody replies with a stupid comment, and then - what? Since you already pointed out this is the ONLY local music board that has survived, how is this the example of everything wrong? I just saw 10 members here at a show over the weekend. When's the last time you ran into the BSR crowd outside the senior center?

These people are mocking you because you're sensitive, and talking shit. This is not your promotional board, it's an online community where butthurt and sensitivity don't really last very long. The advice was good - bump your post, don't make a new one. And before bashing the board and saying if it wasn't such and such you would... you said it yourself, there are NO other boards left. So REV has clearly done something right.

Didn't I help you book one of these once? Like got you the QVCC, a PA, and the bands and then nobody showed because you didn't promote?

Also, this is not really the board to be looking for bands with all ages crowds. Not to demean what you're doing, but your approach could be greatly improved.

In response to Sacreligion, yes you did help me with a show back in 2006 at the QVCC, and nobody showed up but not because I didn't promote. That said, without a certain amount of money to promote with, it's hard to effectively promote, without someone somewhere helping with promotion. We are a very small charity, with a very small budget, so funds are limited, for every single thing we need to put these shows on. All that said, if anybody has any suggestions about how to better promote, I'm all ears - because I am by no means a promoter - never have been. Also, I've been listening to people's shit for the past 5 years we've been doing these shows, and I'm just now starting to get tired of it, so if I flip out once every five years oh well.
ArrowHeadNLI - I don't need you, but whatever you need to tell yourself is fine. Not for nothing, as much as it sucks to say it, the metal shows are the worst drawing shows we've done - so I really don't need you.
Also, just a P.S. to Sacreligion - we had 6 bands that day, and 4 people showed up, so I'm not sure how that happens but I'm sure it's not all my fault, and it's not yours either, as I remember you did what you could to help promote it.
All that said, can anybody tell me how to delete my posts? Because I don't see that option here - that and the fact that you can't block or delete someone else's comments on your post are two of the major problems with this site.
Either way, I'll be off here for good - you guys can have your playground back.
