nope, that old time music really is fucking hard core, and he really did sign two ancient language dictionaries of mine. His grandson (who has "Nashvegas" written all over him) even wrote "God bless!" in one. (That part is also not a joke, but IS pretty damn funny.)

They closed with the most ripping rendition of "Orange Blossom Special" I've ever heard, followed by a pretty grisly "I'll Fly Away."

I saw him at the Speaking Clock Revue show in Boston (Elton John, Leon Russell, Mellencamp, Costello, etc etc) and was pretty hooked. Had only heard of him before and heard "Constant Man Of Sorrow" but I need to find a hell of a lot more of his stuff.
