I really like the ending of Wheels Within Wheels, albeit the vocals are pretty Aeon Spokish. It almost sounds a little bit like the ending of Rivers Dancing by Gordian Knot. His vocals remind me of the shit you hear on shows like Grey's Anatomy now.
Mike - still waiting for my slumlord to come here and check this leak out.

Haven't listened yet, but from what I've already heard I'd rather they re-record Focus with the same tones/production as Traced in Air than record re-traced.
I think they're experimenting for their next album.

It's more blatant that ever that Paul doesn't want to play metal anymore.
Speaking of Cynic, has anyone got that new album by the guys from Daath yet? Sean Reinert plays drums on it. I'm getting it now, but have only heard the sample clips. Sounds killer! Also, the new Ludicra is sounding pretty tight as well. There may be hope yet for progressive METAL.
Fuck yes, man. I was just looking for this last week. Hearing Wheels Within Wheels live was pretty cool, although I'm a bit scared that there were no growled vocals at all...
hmm I haven't read the lyrics yet or studied them, but "wheels within wheels" is a quote taken from Ezekiel in the bible.
Is Cynic singing about the bible now? It is that passage that people say were UFOs too. Hmm..

Saw them a year or year and a half ago in CT when they were touring for Traced in Air. I was pretty excited to be at that show & they sounded great but I gotta say I felt almost emo there... hardly any screaming/growling. I can imagine what Masvidal is leaning toward now. Maybe another CD to add to my collection of music I play to fall asleep at night?
