I saw a movie with Robin Williams and it got me thinking how cliche this plot device is.

Father's Day
Airheads
Ace Ventura

any others?

When Ace gets in the club to meet that guy with the long blond hair and the glasses, the death metal band that is playing is Cannibal Corpse and the song is called "Hammer Smashed Face". Jim Carrey is actually a fan of Cannibal Corpse and he insisted on them appearing in the movie since the movie takes place in Florida which is the "capital" of death metal.

HAHA! The way he dances to the groove part towards the end of the clip always had me in stitches.

toggletoggle post by ArrowHeadNLI at Nov 23,2009 8:03pm

A time honored metal tradition.

The best is right at the end:

"I gotta go guys, I have a date with your mothers!"

The whole scene kills me every time I see it though.

digital underground in nothing but trouble.

toggletoggle post by aril at Nov 24,2009 1:44am
nothng but trouble os such a good movie. So strange, yet so satisfying seeing John candy dressed up like a woman

Most movies have these "underground scenes" as some goth/punk/denim wearing crowd. Some vague mix of counter cultures. Pretty silly.

I like that scene in "Joe's Apartment" where Boss Hogg is playing onstage
