This game got rave reviews and the thing that caught my eye was it's a spiritual successor to my favorite game of all time, Super Metroid, right down to the exploration, map, action, and weapon/armor upgrades - you get some kickass modern weaponry, and the gameplay is genius, you have so many abilities, weapons, exploits in the environment. For those bitching about the lack of modern sidescrollers this is a true 2D sidescroller in a 3D world. It's 15 bucks on Xbox live and I made an account just to buy it. It's based on Orson Scott-Card's "Empire" but the story is nothing too special and it doesn't nearly match the atmosphere and creativity of the classic Super Metroid, but it's still the best sidescroller I've played in years. Downloaded the demo of this and I agree with everything you said. As soon as my 360 is done being fixed I am totally getting it. Sweet graphics and control for a side-scroller.
