It must be stressed that The Black Metal BM-1's sound is absolutely nothing like the Metal Zone, Death Metal, Metal Core, or any other "metal" distortion pedal. The Dragonfly BM-1 Black Metal Pedal possesses characteristics unlike all of the aforementioned pedals. If you are looking for a modern, over-processed, "Nu Metal" tone, this pedal is not for you. However, if you are looking for crushing, tube-like, analog distortion, then the Dragonfly BM-1 is definitely worth checking out. The Dragonfly BM-1's sound specifically pays tribute to the guitar tones of The First Wave Of Black Metal (approx 1980-1990). The pedal code "BM-1" represents "Black Metal-First Wave." This pedal's primary purpose is to pay respect to the forefathers of Black Metal. The original visionaries. The underground, often underrated, cult groups of the 1980's that paved the way for all future Black Metal bands of the 1990‘s, 2000’s and beyond. Google "First Wave Of Black Metal" to refresh your memory if necessary. These legendary artists used simple tools to create their epic masterpieces (compared to todays standards). This pedal is 100% pure analog. This pedal contains no digital amp modeling, no speaker cabinet emulation...and most importantly...no bullshit. This pedal has a very raw, vicious sound and we fucking mean it. And while this pedal does indeed possess a very old school sound, fans of The Second Wave of Black Metal (early-mid 1990's Norway/Sweden/Finland etc.) should also find this pedal very appealing. It's sound truly covers a broad range of diabolical guitar tones.

i'm diggin' this. ORDERED. |
hopefully this fucker puts out guitar tone heard on Darkthrone's Transilvanian Hunger and Under a Funeral Moon albums but Id say its a marketing gimmick.....as black metal has become fashionable.....thanks to Hot Topic embrassing it for its "goth" aesthetics and imagery so the can sell their ridiculous clothing to disinfranchised impressionable mall youth....having nothing to do with actual music. |
ahahaha, you need a pedal to get that sound? you suck. |
"We recommend that the HATRED/Distortion control always be set to maximum. We also like the CHAOS/Shape control set to 10 for maximum sustain."
lolzipops |

ORDER TODAY! |

I think it's silly. Maybe it sounds good. But one should fuck around with any pedal to get that "black metal" sound. What ever you feel it should be.
It shouldn't be prepared for anyone. |
if you run a bass through this pedal, does the bass disappear entirely? |
Eyes of Nocturn will surely be sporting this next time around. Also I hear Bova has 2. |
Wouldn't a "black metal pedal" just be a Peavey practice amp? |

hahaha so true |
It's not like I'm hating the tone. But yeah, you can get the same tone by pouring ecto cooler on your combo amp. |
it is missing a Bova knob. Power, Hatred, Attack, Chaos, and Bova...the 5 horsemen of the guitar pedal apocalypse.
it goes sick with your rig, dude. |
it really doesn't sound bad at all.
It is just super gimmicky. |
Yea I think it is a cool pedal. |
technically speaking, this pedal should sound like you are plugging your guitar into the boss heavy metal pedal and then into a DI straight onto cassette tape. |
