Alan from Khanate's new band. Does anyone else have this yet?

Heard what songs they put up awhile ago. Dubin's vocals remain sick, but I wasn't into the music. Old Lady Drivers and Khanate FTW.

Yeah, the music threw me for a while, I'm coming around to it though. One of the tracks is very Khanate though, especially in the beginning of the song.

Yeah, I need to hear it in its entirety to make any real judgment. One of the tracks I heard was reminiscent of Skin Chamber, only not as good.

It's just weird to hear those vocals on something that isn't completely miserably minimalist.

I agree, which is probably why the music repelled me when I first heard it. I wish Sunn decided to break up instead of Khanate. So much wasted potential. Sunn seems to be more of a money scheme anyway.

Yep, I wish Goatsnake was the band that was huge and Sunn was the shit nobody's heard of.

Them and Burning Witch. But at least the Witch went out on a good note, instead of becoming hipster-friendly.

There are a number of releases O'Malley has put out, that one could literally just plug in a guitar, strum one chord, achieve the same sound, and not waste money.

haha, basically. I felt Burning Witch got their due for being awesome though, whereas Goatsnake didn't so much.

They were great when Sewer Goddess played with them and Unearthly Trance in Manhattan. Good times.

Still have to give the record a listen. Alan Dubin is such a good shit. I told him "Formula" was one of my favorite records and he laughed at me.
