The time has come for the apocalypse, or as Mad Mike would say, hate has finally won. Massachusetts' grind psychos Heisai Yasokawa's EMPTY ORCHESTRA has released their EP on Boston based Alimony Soundworks, entitled "Songs Of An Endless Charade". Contained on this slab of transparent Cobalt cassette are three songs conjuring 4:33 of music, an amount of time that would most certainly please John Cage. These songs are filled with self-loathing and agoraphobia, depression and moments-of-clarity, conjuring up the berzerk grind styles of past bands like Benumb, Assuck, Spazz, and modern extreme metal like Pig Destroyer and Magrudergrind.

This album contains the highest quality tape available, and has full lyrics printed inside. Each cassette is hand wrapped in twine. YES.

Get a copy today and dust off your old tape deck. Or go visit your uncle in Kentucky and use his. If it ain't on cassette, it ain't worth shit.

Paypal $5 postage paid to fireandjail(at)yahoo(dot)com.

1) fits with the artwork, adds another dimension

2) keeps the tape case shut. i ordered overwrap but they neglected it at the factory.

Status-raising products are popular because they're easy. There's no initiation or lengthy learning process. Instead, you find a place that has the CD, and they're never more than two steps away from the neighborhood record store, and buy it. Some erect barriers like demanding cash only, using obscure formats like CD and tape, or even screaming fascist rhetoric at you, but still: the stuff's for sale and they need to sell it. Ka-ching! Thanks, you're now elite.

Because I <3 you guys. And because Rusty is a fascist.

i just like the sound / look / portability of tapes. i'd rather be stuck with a box of these than a box of cds.

toggletoggle post by Doomkid   at Jun 2,2009 9:54pm
All true, and yet...I dare you to release something on minidisc. :-p

toggletoggle post by the_taste_of_cigarettes  at Jun 3,2009 12:13am
Minidisc or DAT (or ADAT) would be career suicide
