this band rules they were on ondemand a few months back.
Upcdowncleftcrightcabc+Start, mosh patrol are also good bands like this

good post-rock ambient type stuff..

however, do you listen to any krautrock or ambient stuff from the 70s and 80s?? (Klaus Schulze, Tangerine Dream, Ash Ra Tempel, Amon Duul II, Popol Vuh, etc..)
Appreciate the forefathers of ambient music as well.

I've tried to listen to some of that stuff but I'm not particularly a huge fan of ambient music in general. I wouldn't really call Sigur Ros ambient. I do listen to Brian Eno and stuff like Bibio, Boards of Canada, Helios and some other post rock stuff. That's about as ambient as I'm willing to get. Unless it all sounds like Sigur Ros' Agaetis Byrjun.
