I'll try my best to get down there. I really wouldn't mind hearing some live tool. But hey if I don't make it I can always go see boarcorpse.

toggletoggle post by reimroc at Jan 21,2009 7:55pm
will useful idiot be playing shows on a regular basis or is this a one time thing?

toggletoggle post by Dave_Maggot   at Jan 21,2009 7:58pm
i'll be there

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Jan 21,2009 10:58pm
regular basis. we have spent a little time learning a bit over 2hours so far, and we are gonna keep going and learn them all. We also are gonna buy a projection screen to do some horror/anime/action videos with the music. Tool does something very similar with Adam Jones's animation. We are just starting to really book shows, but we plan on playing a lot. I love Tool, seen em 24times, have signed stick, sold Danney Carey weed (when he played harpers with Pigme love Circus) and he was basically the drummer that made me wanna start playing.(when i was 20). I know it sounds like a copout, but we plan on making some cash with it. Good cover bands get paid pretty well, and i love the music, and i love playing it. So why not make a little extra cash playing music? I still do original music, so i haven't sold my soul, and any playing you do makes you better, so it's all for the greater good. We are going to win the best village award this year for sure.

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Jan 21,2009 11:00pm
Dave Maggot fucking rules, one BOACORPSE show Mon, then a USEFUL IDIOT show on thur, then we're playing with him next Sat, good fucking times. Dave deserves a Bro-Job from me.

toggletoggle post by boblovesmusic   at Jan 23,2009 9:21am
Totally awesome show! Ouchjim you were fantastic! Tool would've been proud.

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Jan 23,2009 9:36am
sounds like you guys had a great time and i would have liked to check it out, but i had a sick baby to take care of. :(

toggletoggle post by boblovesmusic   at Jan 23,2009 9:42am
No excuse is a good excuse!

toggletoggle post by MarkFuckingRichards  at Jan 23,2009 10:24am
Twas definitely a fun time; I've never seen anyone do Tool covers ever, but these guys definitely fucking pull it off. Excellent work.

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Jan 23,2009 10:34am
well, nice words, but to me our performance was totally unacceptable. The first set wasn't as bad as the second, but the first was WAY worse than we normally play. And the second actually embarrassed me. I made a small handful of fuckups, nothing terrible, but much worse than i normally do. Our bass player/guitar player were AWFUL. They usually kill it, i don't know what happened, but i am seriously pissed off. They agree too, it's not like i am being too picky, they KNOW they played like children.... I don't know how they were as bad as they were, we usually will play 2hours of music with a couple mistakes total for the whole band.. my guitar player ALONE made about 2dozen that i heard, mostly just wrong chords, but he totally fucked the timing at least 5 times. And when the timing in TOOL is off, it sounds very bad. The drum solo section in 46+2.. I played it great.. but you couldn't tell because the guitar player completely lost the rhythm. I don't know what else to say, besides the fact that my music NAZI nature is gonna come out and brow beat these fucks into playing better. I will NOT play in a bad cover band. If they don't shape up, i will find other players.

And i really do appreciate all of you that came out, it means a lot to know my friends will come support even with 48hours notice. I love you guys.

toggletoggle post by MarkFuckingRichards  at Jan 23,2009 10:37am
It's usually always the case that the band members notice fuck ups, but I don't think many other people noticed Jim. Eliot and I did catch you miss a tom once though, heh heh...just busting your balls. No matter what it was a fun time, and I'll be looking forward to seeing you on what you consider a better night. I'm sure I won't be disappointed.

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Jan 23,2009 10:45am
i appreciate the nice words mark, but honestly I think you guys were probably paying more attention to me than the guitars. (ya know, you think i am so sexy) and you guys did leave before it got to the real embarrassing part. Like i said, the first set wasn't terrible, to someone who hadn't heard us, it would've even been good. But after the second set, 3people asked me if the guitars are always that bad.

toggletoggle post by MarkFuckingRichards  at Jan 23,2009 10:48am
Aaah, I get ya. And yeah, I was way too busy masturbating to your oozing machismo to notice anything else, haha.

toggletoggle post by boblovesmusic   at Jan 23,2009 10:52am
I suppose it was completely awful, but I know I enjoyed it! I was headbanging and man, I was like "wow, I should listen to Tool more often." You even played Parabola which was totally awesome (one of my favorites).

I agree with Mark, it was a fun night and I look forward to seeing you guys on a better night!

toggletoggle post by boblovesmusic   at Jan 23,2009 10:53am
I'll also admit watching you drum was awesome!

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Jan 23,2009 10:59am
thank you for the honesty. I don't blame myself directly. I blame myself for not making sure he has been practicing enough. It will not happen again.

toggletoggle post by narkybark   at Jan 23,2009 11:29am
crack that whip, bitch!

toggletoggle post by W3 nli at Jan 23,2009 11:41am
whip it, whip it good?

toggletoggle post by boblovesmusic   at Jan 23,2009 11:46am
Jim, you should do a Devo cover in the middle of all the Tool songs!

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Jan 23,2009 1:02pm
If i am the one cracking the whip, then i am not really the bitch. Right? Anyways, there will be beatings of a more-than-horseplay nature if performances of that level continue. Unacceptable.

toggletoggle post by W3 nli at Jan 23,2009 1:06pm

Jim, you're insane. Me and my roomie were talking about how killer you guys were. I was in total awe of that instrumental jam that went right into Sober. SO GOOD.

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Jan 23,2009 2:41pm
i appreciate Rich, but i am sure if you saw us on a "normal" night you would see the difference. Thank you though, and thanks for the show.

I clicked on this thread by accident and saw this.

I would just like to state for the record that I turned down free tickets to see Tool back in 1994 because I thought they were gay then, I thought they weer gay 5 years ago, and I think they are gay now.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jan 23,2009 3:45pm
I agree with that statement.

toggletoggle post by DestroyYouAlot  at Jan 23,2009 4:12pm
Not to my taste.

Yeah, we all would have assumed as much without your statements, but thank you anyways.
