The El Diablo...

So my guitar players' amp the marshal mode4 died after the O'briens show. Apparantly the thing is fried, too fried to bother fixing. How that happened, we have no idea, but while looking for a new amp he stumbled accross this guy. Thought it sounded pretty good, anyone know anything about em?

these amps are amazing. They sound great. You can really use them for a pretty wide variety of music too.

i have no genz benz experience beyond their cabs, which are fantastic.

'frying' a solid state head = pay more attention to what youre doing with your gear.

i was under the impression that it's not all solid state, it has some tubes, its a hybrid. And he is super careful with his stuff. So much so, that he won't let anyone else carry his stuff in/out of shows. So while your suggestion is sweet, it's probably inappropriate for the situation.

its probably just a blown transistor. take it to a repair shop, it will only cost $40.

we did. Repair shop said it was done for. They said it would be more to fix than it was worth.

Mode Four is a Valvestate amp... which means tube pre amps and solid state power amp.. and apparently according to some other posting sites Marshall stopped making them because every single one of them eventually "blows", the cooling fans seem to be a major problem

right. Valvestate, aka hybrid. And yeah, i been seeing reports of other peoples blowing too. Without being mishandled i may add. Oh well, at least he got a good five years outta his.
