my other laptop hasn't been running too well with vista... I would honestly not care if they had the xp file manager. so I'm going to re-install xp on it.
happiness.

my friend who is very computer illiterate, just went out and bought a nice laptop with vista installed on it. i was going to show him a few things on it but vista is gay so i couldn't.

toggletoggle post by porphyria at Aug 5,2008 11:52am
I was hesitant about vista initially, but I find no issues with it over 8 months into using the x64 ultimate version.

I like Linux and XP.

I'd never run a Macintosh.

alex: I definitely won't install ubuntu on my laptop. ubuntu kills lappy hard drives.

toggletoggle post by porphyria at Aug 6,2008 12:49am
phew, just reinstalled vista x64 in order to use the built in raid on my mb, clean installs are fun!

1 x 150gb raptor vista
2 x 750gb SATA raid 1
2 x 750gb eSATA raid 1

usb drives:
1 x 500gb for work
1 x 300gb for random

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Aug 6,2008 7:39am
tom, you should ghost your 150. I found myself in canada this weekend, needing a photo on a drive in NH (and a copy in MA). in thhe end, a co-worker got it for me. but it made me see that I need to have my files accessible at home.

alex: oh and I like to be able to use any of the programs that I use 24/7 like photoshop.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Aug 6,2008 10:15am
at home I have drives set up in pairs (mirror synched not RAID), but they are in a tower with USB to IDE/SATA adapters.
2x500GB = photo I
2x500GB = photo II
2x750GB = other back up
2x500GB = music
2x500GB = movies

then there are 4 other random sized drives with god knows what on them.

I remember people telling me about how awesome linux was and giving me a redhat cd in 1994.

toggletoggle post by watchmaker666nli at Aug 6,2008 3:54pm
http://www.clarkconnect.com/ I use this as my gateway and it rules, it is a linux distro built on redhat. Untill I can play counterstrike on linux xp is were I will be watching my porn thank you very much.

toggletoggle post by aril at Aug 6,2008 4:00pm
Man. I haven't played couterstrike in ages. I didn't like the source one that much. I like the original much better.
I was always a TFC fan though. Used to have clan battles at 2fort and stuff. good times
