it shows that things are being scrobbled, but I'm not getting my last.fm page updated. WTF!

Check all your settings to make sure everything is linked up correctly.

I really need the world to know that I'm listening to the bob marley track from the cruise commercial.

That happens to me sometime too. I really don't know why.

the weird thing is that 5 days later, it will all of a sudden show up there.

Sometimes the scrobbling gets messed up, but it will (almost) always show up later. Kind of annoying, but just be patient.
