The Beach Boys are unsurpassed. This incarnation of the Beach Boys is without Brian Wilson who, to me, is the god, father, and godfather of all modern music.

This man knows what he's talking about.
I still cream to God Only Knows and when I hear the chorus of You Still Believe In Me I wanna cry tears of anguish because I will never write the shit he did.

Seeing the Beach Boys now would be like going to see Jimmy Buffett.

Pet Sounds is a helluvan album though.

I heard the Beach Boys got kicked off that show cuz they didn't sell enough tickets.

I heard Brian Wilson was gonna make a guest appearance, but he bailed at the last minute due to prior contractual obligations with being a crazy person.

They don't even have Brian Wilson with them anymore. One of the brother died too. It's just not the same. Brian Wilson does have some decent albums. He finished SMiLE! and it's amazing.
Also, Van Dyke Parks who helped with lyrics and musical direction with the Beach Boys early on wrote an album and had Brian Wilson sing on it. Quite good. It's called Orange Crate Art.

Surfer Girl is probably my favorite song ever. During a show in the gym at my high school a few years back, my friend started playing the progression on the piano to set the levels. I jumped on the mic and he happened to have a mic near him and we performed that sing impromptu. It was amazing.
