Matt has officially decided to leave the band do to time and money constraints. This means that any of you psychotic drummers now have the opportunity to play with us fools. So, get those kits in order, grease up your joints and blast the shit out of that snare. You can contact us here or email me (Justin) at sxejustin@bywires.com or call me at 617 851 7240. We will gladly send you the newest recorded material to learn (pick a favorite tune) and then send us a recording, or we'll come to your place to audition. Our goal is to continue tearing shit up so the sooner this search is over, the better.
We all wish Matt well at school and thank him for his time in the band, he will be severely missed. |

Like I mentioned in the first post about this, any drummer would be lucky to play in a band with these guys. They are not only gifted musicians but are some of the coolest people I've ever met. It was an incredibly hard decision to leave but at this point it is the only option that makes sense. |

i'd be more than happy to learn the stuff and play with you guys for some shows, as many as neccessary till you find someone you really like. I know most bands would prefer to just find someone permanent, but you guys play so much now that if you stop for a couple months, you will really lose momentum. And for that sort of of gig, i am just the right kind of guy. I can learn a full set worth of complicated metal in a couple weeks tops. (Not trying to brag, i just think i would enjoy playing with these guys, even if only for a couple months.) |

Well unfortunately, I was one of those drummers trying out.. And while i really did know the material, and i could play 80% of what matt did... Unfortunately I couldn't do his single hand blasts up to speed. He rocks it at about the 245-250bpm level on "unwinged" and about the same but for like half the damn song on "teaming with sharks" so all in all i guess i couldnt play 80% of the material i could play everything but the blasts. Its not that i can't blast either, i just can't fucking go 250. i have 230 under my belt, with 64th on the bass too... anyways, i wasnt good enough but i tried. it was fun |

You can play 64th notes at 230? LOLZ. That means you can play 3680 strokes in a minute. Thus making you the fastest drummer in the world, with your feet, by about 2000 strokes.

sorry, i assure you all i was on my way out the door when i typed that. Is it's only quarter notes on the hands at that speed, and so it would be 8th notes on the feet... so shoot me
moral of story- I was not quick enough with my blasts. I have no excuses other than the fact that the blasts in those songs are fast. It was fun trying though. |
