I want to get a new phone, hopefully a PDA or something of the sort, so I can feel fancy and shit. Who's got advice for me? I'm looking to stay with T-Mobile since it's the only provider that I haven't had a problem with (plus I don't want to pay a deactivation fee).

My sister has a Sidekick Slide and it's the only Sidekick that has ever impressed me. So, it is definitely on my list of options.

It runs circles around the fucking sidekick. Sidekicks are trash. and the slide has the same interface as all the other sidekicks so I don't know why it would impress you more then one with a screen that opens differently.

The Sidekick Slide is something like $150-200 cheaper than the other Sidekicks and it's more durable. I've toyed around with friends' Sidekicks and hated the feel of them; they feel like a toy since they're poorly constructed with shitty plastic. The Slide isn't made of the same material...unless they changed the material on all of the Sidekicks and I just haven't seen the new ones.

The slide is the same price as tyhe sidekick, sk2, and sk 3 were.

unless your thinking of the sidekick SD(which is the cheapie one).

then the only other one is the sidekick LX and it's not really made cheap, but has the same retarded interface the other ones have. I think you will like the blackberry. I got mine for only 100 bucks with an upgrade.

i tried someones blackberry pearl and hated it with a passion. that little ball thing is gay.

those samsung sliders have done me well if you want something cheap... or just wait for an iphone with GPS which is probably coming soon.

they are easy to unlock... and they are not gonna make it harder because it would be bad for sales.

also a phone with a screen like the black berry is useless for aim and gps. my samsung has AIM but i never use it. the blue tooth on the blackberry doesnt support standard file transfer either. wtf is that?

If you're on T-Mobile get the wing. Bigger screen, and it's windows mobile 6. You can tweak it out, and run all kinds of shit. Plus, you can get one for free if you re-up through the wal-mart website.

Blackberrys are cool, but the pearl has a fucked keyboard where single keys are multiple letters. With the wing, you get a full flip out querty keyboard.

I just got a treo from sprint with the unlimited interweb, and it's fucking sick. I've got it tricked out with all the i-phone icons, have gps with voice recognition, and on and on.

Also, the blackberry pearl is a small screen "smart phone". A Wing is a QVGA or VGA touch screen display.

I prefer the keyboard setup on the blackberry. it's less bulky then a full qwerty, and is still fast to type on.

The only thing I can think would be a real downside is 1800 numbers.

if you gotta dial 1-800-fat-girl on the pearl, you're fucked because of the way the letters are.

Also, Charlie just got a tmobile shadow if you wanna check that out.

If I were considering the wing or blackberry I would look at the shadow. it's got similar features and is a pretty sweet phone.

It runs windows though, and I know how you mac users are about sensible OSs

I recommend the wing mainly because it is a windows mobile device. Like anything else windows: it sucks balls out of the box, but is infinitely hack and tweakable.

it was so friggin slow so I removed it.

looks slick there though. TCMP is another thing I never got to work.

helio ocean end of story. it kills the iphone in everything, and slides 2 ways. like for number pad and qwerty keyboard. it is unlimited calling text and internet for $99/month. and it uses verizon and sprints network. service everywhere. it only like $100 too. this is by far the best thing out there.

I got the Blackberry Pearl today; it was the only phone that T-Mobile had that wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg that they actually had in stock. I enjoy it so far, especially since it's not a Motorolla Razor.

What color did you get? I got the gold one. mainly because it was 100 bucks cheaper then the blue one(which I wanted) and the black one.

Yeah, I got the gold one too, for the same reason. I like to think of it as "champagne," because gold is for drag queens and Mr. T, no one else. I'm keeping the Razor for whatever. If you know anyone that wants one I'll sell it cheap.
