New site? Maybe some day.

Lunch today:
Tempura yam maki. They called it an Idaho Roll.
I won't say it is my favorite food, but I've found that I spend between 20 and 40 dollars eating it every week without fail. I eat a shitload of it with my ladyfriend at this one place in Providence, get the same stuff, and never tire of it. Last weekend she made a crazy face when another table got their food in a boat and the itamae put three rolls on a big fucking pirate ship for us. I also think sushi is the prettiest food. |
have you had unagi? You wouldn't think that eel would be a tasty kind of meat, but it really is the best texture meat I've ever had. It's like butter. |
I don't eat fish (which I'm sure will make me unqualified for making this thread in someone's opinion), so no, but I have gone to sushi bars with meat eaters trying it for the first time and all seemed pleasantly surprised. |
I love sushi so so so so much. I can't even express it in words.
Really high quality salmon sashimi, also, is probably the most mind-meltingly delicious animal flesh I've ever tasted. |
I love idao maki.
that's carina's favorite. the sweet sauce with it rules.
I'm starving now.
thanks a lot |
yeah, right now I'm wishing I had a job and could afford some sushi. |

While eating good sushi is an expensive habit to have, making pretty damn good sushi is cheap as hell and very easy, especially inari, which I think is every bit as special as any wacky roll I've ever had. I need to get a sailboat to eat it on.
Our sweet pirateship:
(eggplant, avocado, inari, yam, and wakame maki, vegetable futomaki, and a dragon roll) |
I saw those two assholes in Wickford on Sunday.
Pickled radish roll kicks ass. |
I love sushi rolls. I don't remember what it was called but I bought some last week that had eel in it and it was some of the best I've ever had. |

You should come eat sushi at Sakura. More people means more stuff which means a better likelihood of getting it on a boat. Is there good sushi in North Kingstown other than Seven Moons? |
This is sushi I have made. I make way more than enough to kill me for less than 10 dollars.
Avocado/cucumber uramaki and spicy avocado/cucumber
spicy avocado/tofu/cucumber/sprouts w/sesame seeds. The spicy sauce is just dijon mayonnaise and Sriracha (the red chili sauce with the rooster on it that's in most restaurants)
Inari is fucking delicious.
Sometimes I make sweet gherkin rolls. |
dude..i am so friggin hungry right now and this thread just killed me.. |
Making sushi rules. Hail Satan!, you said bro. |

Outside of the unlikely possibility that Pagoda Inn has sushi(I've never been), there's nothing in North Kingstown but fast food joints and pizza places.
Next time you're in Rhode Island let me know about eating sushi. As long as it's not this weekend though, I won't be around. |

Neither will I. Pagoda Inn has no sushi and is a shithole anyways. Seven Moons has decent vegetarian sushi, but not a huge selection. We just go to Sakura and assume we can do no better. |
Fuck you, now imma a hungry.
I'mma eat some A-rab food, couscous is the best of pastas. |
Sushi for me, sushi for u, I love to eat my sushi in a big brown shoe |
Sushi is much better than turkey, yes. |
muahahahahaha muahahahahaha |
I am making sushi rolls for the first time tonight. I will post some pictures if I can find a possible way to do so. |
idaho maki is the sexxorz. |
this expensive sushi lunch habit needs to stop. |

STARVE YOURSELF FOR BEAUTY. DO IT, YOU WON'T |

Spicy Tuna can't be beat. The roll is great, and once you get into it enough you might start to just want it as sashimi (no rice), luckily most Japanese places WILL do that for you if you ask them even though its not a menu item. |
Only California roll is real |
why did I click this thread!@ |
I usually eat sushi once every two weeks. Spending 10 bucks at lunch and feeling hungry and hour later sucks.
So good though. I love unagi too. |
it really is the best texture meat I've ever had. |
How come no one has done anything about this yet?
Ipsissimus inked the MB deal over unagi and strawberries. |
Sushi fucking rules, hands down. Place we go in NH has a ton of funky roll concoctions. Frankly, it gives me a stiffy. |
Inari with shitakis and cilantro. |
Oh, and piling on so much wasabi that you can feel it creep up your sinuses all the way to the back of your fucking eyeballs rules. |
New place in chinatown that's pretty good: http://www.irashaisushi.com/menu.html
I will definitely be ordering from them in the future, they're at that sweet spot that's a cut above Avana, yet not as expensive as Ginza. |
Yama in West Lebanon, NH. Place looks like a dive, but has the best/freshest sushi in the state. |
First order of business once my job is back in session, Ron Swanson-ing Ginza with a request for all the Idaho Maki and Yaki udon they have. |
Yeah, Ginza does Idaho right. How hard could it be, you wonder? Apparently pretty hard :/ |
Sushi Corner in Melrose does a pretty good Idaho maki, got it and a house roll that's a spicy tuna maki rolled up in salmon and avocado for dinner last night. Can't weigh in on the eel sauce but they were kind enough to sub in a rice wine vinegar/ginger sauce for me.
The place is no Ginza but it's fresh and they deliver. |
Yeah but Ginza's ten minutes from my apartment so it wins. |
Business rttp luncheon special? aril was always too pussy to grab lunch when he worked nearby |
