what do you use for CD players?
we use these:

but they don't sell them anymore and I need to figure out what to do.

Why do you radio stations always prefer those players that need the special CD cases?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jan 21,2007 9:42pm
they don't need special CD cases.
we use the 961 not the 951.

these CD players take the abuse of the station. regular CD players can only take the abuse for a month..

my station currently uses those, although we also have some other models hanging around that we used to have in service.

regarding longevity, these players have lasted for years and years with people like me using them all the time, so there is no question about their durability.

I'm looking for the sony model that we used to use, but I can't find any info about it and I don't know the model offhand. I'll post it next time I'm at the station.

We've used the Marantz PMD340 at every station I've been at and have never had any problems.

damn.. all of these take up so much room!

toggletoggle post by VoidExpression  at Jan 21,2007 11:25pm
Yeah, you have to rack mount those beasts.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jan 21,2007 11:43pm
no, I got a rack, but I can put 3 of my players in the space of 1 1/2 of yours.

how fast do the trays open on the marantz?
are there tray locks while the CD is playing?

our trays are mechanical and pop right open.
