So at my work we do DVD dubs on a pretty regular basis for other departments and such. This african looking guy brought in 3 mini dv tapes today and said he needed them dubbed to DVD. It's 13.50 per dub x 3 = $40.50.
It turns out though, as I'm checking on the dubs, that they're not for school use or anything. It's basically 3 hours worth of home movie footage the guy shot of his family and friends dancing around to african music. Every single time I looked at it, that's what it was... his friends and family dancing around in the living room rocking out to african music. The best part is some guy dancing while he's cooking by the stove drumming along with a spoon and a spatula. This is all for an hour at a time on 3 separate tapes.
Far be it from me to tell anybody how to spend their money, but this just seems like a huge waste of money for something he probably could have done at home if he knew how. I garauntee you this guy never shows up to pick up his tapes.
im just curious if some idiot were to bring you videos of them doing something illegal are you obligated to turn them over to the cops and has that ever happened? if people don't mind getting naked pictures of themselves developed at a 1-hour photo place then im sure they dont mind getting videos of them beating old ladys or something transfered to dvd.
