lol... it doesn't matter how hard you try to be on the bleeding edge of technology... whatever you buy will be outdated before you take it out of the box

and that's a hefty pricetag

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jun 1,2006 11:03am
that's not the "holy shit" part.
I have a D2X and it does that.
there are 2 things that it does that I want.
1) HSC mode mask. I always mess up framing to the bottom or the top of HSC cause of the lack of masking.
2) b/w mode

other than that, the better battery life would be nice and the larger LCD would be cool.

that doesn't sound new, but i like the b&w function, longer battery life and the new options in gigh speed crop...that doesn't mean i'm buying it though..

I also bought my D2X about a month or 2 ago

DAMN!!!

Max. No. of shots: 60; Accelerated continuous shooting
(8fps) at max. 38 shots when taking long exposures
with noise reduction ON (approx. same rate when OFF)

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jun 1,2006 12:25pm
it's the HSC that I want though.
I never use a lot of the buffer.

if the hi-iso noise was reduced like they did between the D2H and D2hs, i'll be pissy then

great news carina...

Firmware upgrade for Nikon D2X in the works
Friday, June 2, 2006 ~ by Rob Galbraith

Nikon is developing a firmware update for the D2X that will bring a number of the D2Xs' refinements to the earlier camera, says a story on Japanese-language web site RBB Today. The article notes that the following features will be rolled into the new firmware:
* In-camera trimming function
* Autofocus algorithm improvements
* Metering of the capture area only Hi-Speed Crop mode
* Adjustable delay for Focus Tracking with Lock-on
* Additional ISO increments between 800 and HI-1 (ISO 1600)
* Maximum ISO and minimum shutter speed options added to Auto ISO feature
* Black and white mode

* Ability to use the sensor cleaning mode when the camera is powered by the battery exclusively
* Files will be verifiable with Nikon's upcoming Image Authentication Software

RBB Today say the downloadable update will be released in the fourth quarter of 2006.

does it make pizza?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jun 2,2006 10:39am
that's the canon camera.
it's also got a $$ button.

With Cameras like this one, how is Nikon ever going to stay in buisiness?

Drug dealing, me thinks.
