i've been playing about 4 months now; i got a Borg drumset for christmas, which i discovered was purchased at Sam's Club, hahaha! it's a cheapy drumset, only a few hundred bucks, but i like it, it came with bass drum, kick pedal, snare, two mounted toms, floor tom, hi-hats, crash and ride cymbals/stands, even a tambourine and cowbell! it's not the best, but it's good for practicing.
the cymbals are starting to get a little beat up and dented from beating the crap out of them, especially the hi-hats, so i'll need to buy better ones, but the drums themselves hold pretty nicely.

yea, the heads and the drummers tuning ability make the drum sound for the most part especially with lower level drums like that

toggletoggle post by DEATH2ALL  at Apr 18,2006 5:45pm
18 yrs. Tama Starclassic Custom. Assorted cymbals.
Axis Pedals. Alesis triggers on the kicks.

I've been playing for 18 years, and am nowhere near as good as I should be after that fucking long.

I play Yamaha Stage Customs (black stained finish)
(22" kick, 10" & 12" toms, 14" & 16" mounted floor toms)
13" x 6.5" Yamaha Musashi (oak) snare
Zildjian, Sabian, Paiste & Wuhan cymbals
(I buy the sound, not the name, and fuck it, they all break the same!)
a 7.25" generic Home Depot sawblade
I mount it all on a Pearl ICON rack system (with some Gibraltar hardware.)
Tama Iron Cobra 2 legged hi hat stand
DW 9000 Double pedal
Vater XD-5A sticks (that I break at a ratio of at least 2 per show...)
Evans and Aquarian heads (which ALL need to be replaced, of courese...)
and the most important part, my LP cowbell.

I would be more uniform in what I buy (all Sabian, all Tama, etc...) but playing the kind of music I do, I don't really plan on getting all that many endorsements thrown my way, so I just buy what's comfortable or sounds good to me.

Oh, I'm working on it, believe me. The plan is to set up enough cymbals to completely obstruct what I'm doing. I'm not a big "crowd" person.

It sounds like a higher pitched bell, it's got a different tone, and unlike another bell, it only cost me $3.00. I also think it looks cool.

looks like a craftsman....

Gene Hoglan has also had some interesting things on his kit over the years, including a 60mm cannon shell and a propeller

Tony L from Angel Corpse / Nile etc. had a saw blade on his kit as well.
