Its been almost 7 years since Testament has released an album and almost 5 since Slayer's last one.Talk about fucking lazy!!!!

They smell like catfood.

toggletoggle post by Joe/NotCommon   at Jan 19,2006 10:07am
Slayer should never release another album, I think they proved that already.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jan 19,2006 10:18am
testament has put out 10 live and 20 best of CDs since then.
plus CANCER.

slayer's newest CDs have been hardcore-leaning trash.

toggletoggle post by Joe/NotCommon   at Jan 19,2006 10:19am
Slayer's newest albums have been garbage

toggletoggle post by Kinslayer at Jan 19,2006 10:56am
Both bands should call it quits.

What I meant is that Testament havnt recorded any "new" songs since the Gathering.First Strike Still Deadly was just rerecorded old songs from the Legacy album and their new live CD/DVD is just old stuff.

toggletoggle post by litacore   at Jan 19,2006 11:35am
this thread makes me wanna put Hell Awaits and then The Legacy on the stereo

toggletoggle post by watchmaker666  at Jan 19,2006 11:43am

Ya know!

I like all the Testament albums. I thought The Gathering was awesome.

Slayer's last good record was Divine Intervention. If a new one sounds like that, I'd be happy.

toggletoggle post by ndeath at Jan 19,2006 12:33pm
Anyone here like Eric Peterson's side project Dragonlord? Their decent I think

I like the first 3 Testament albums plus the Gathering. The rest of them have a few good ones here and there but are mostly just filler songs.I think that Low is their worst one

I agree that there are some "meh" songs on alot of the 90s Testament albums, but Testament never sounds bad to me. I can always enjoy listening even if I don't think it's amazing.

Demonic is the only good one in my opinion.

No shit...souls of black?...practice what u preach?...Legacy?...new order?...even low had some great songs....man o man.

Souls is my favorite...falling fast!!!!!

toggletoggle post by DrinkHardThrashHard  at Jan 19,2006 2:12pm
Yeah, I like pretty much all their records, even The Ritual, it had a different sound and was more of a melodic, boxy crunch to the guitars but I loved the tunes.

toggletoggle post by Robdeadskin  at Jan 19,2006 2:13pm
testament rules.......!

toggletoggle post by DrinkHardThrashHard  at Jan 19,2006 2:13pm

someone should tell Defiance to get back together. I always felt Defiance was what Testament shoulda sounded like!!!

Slayer, ugh, boooooooooooooring. they NEED to retire.

the legacy is my favorite testament album, i don't enjoy their other albums as much as i do that one.

as far as slayer...."reign in blood" and "south of heaven" are the only two i think are really worth spending money on.

toggletoggle post by ninkaszi at Jan 19,2006 5:11pm
slayer should just stop putting out albums. they should keep touring and only play old songs for my selfish needs.

i was never a huge testament fan. "the legacy" is great but i could never get into any of the other records like that one. always thought they were rather safe.

I stand corrected. Low is pretty good and the Gathering had its moments. James Murphy and Dave Lombardo were on that and that is why. And Gene Hoglan was on Demonic so that kicked ass.

toggletoggle post by WhyamIandasshole   at Jan 19,2006 7:38pm
I see the comparisons vocal wise between the 2 but thats it. Pantera ruled. Damageplan sucked. Dime ruled.

toggletoggle post by WhyamIandasshole   at Jan 19,2006 7:39pm
Wow definitly posted this in the wrong thread. Booze is awesome.

toggletoggle post by Robdeadskin  at Jan 19,2006 9:04pm
haha awesome andy...i was wondering what the fuck you were talking about!

toggletoggle post by StepByStep at Jan 20,2006 10:09am
Defiance Beyond Recognition was really good. Vocal wise yeah it sounded like CHuck Billy was in the band but musically Defiance was far more advanced than Testament. Never liked Alex Scolnick style. Void Terra Ferma was also a good one but DO NOT bother with their debut CD Product of Society, horrible. Waste of time. The albums are free (for downloading) if you go to Defiance's website. I guess Roadrunner no longer owns the rights so they are giving the music away. cool.

Testament Practice what you Preach and LOW are my personal faves.

toggletoggle post by WhyamIandasshole   at Jan 20,2006 11:49am
I liked Defiance but I always thought of them more as a Metallica And Justice rip off than Testament.

I like The Gathering alot. I don't know alot off of Low. I always get that one confused with Demonic which is terrible. Souls of Black and Pratice are also favorites of mine. First Strike still deadly is cool too.

toggletoggle post by ndeath at Jan 20,2006 2:30pm
Im hoping Testament record a new album soon with the original lineup. But as far as Slayer goes,I know their next one will suck just like their previous 3 have.I do however wanna see them tour this year.

toggletoggle post by silky  at Jan 20,2006 3:09pm
they should both take a time machine back to 1991 and break up.

toggletoggle post by StepByStep at Jan 20,2006 3:56pm
yeah... and justice for all i hear ya on that one! oh well, i liked them a lot. but i'm no longer interested in testament or slayer today.

toggletoggle post by the rooster at Jan 20,2006 11:11pm
i've heard rumors of Slayer recording new material with Lombardo back on drums, so i think that could yield something positive.

(sorry if this has already been mentioned, my post read limit is 5)
