ok, for my pictures, I have a 2 to 3 x backup.

1) copy them to my laptop
2) copy them to my desktop
3) copy them to an external hard drive (USB 1.1)
4) burn dvd's of the pictures.

after #3, I delete them from my laptop (to save space on this poor little guy).
anyhow, the other day, my USB drive lost it's file table so all the data on it is gone and the drive it junk to me.

I'm just curious which drive I should get
1) 180GB firewire
2) 180GB USB 2.0

firewire is faster than usb isn't it?

480 megabits per second (Mbps) for USB 2.0 and 400 Mbps for FireWire

so the speed difference is basically non existant.

though, there's a new spec for fireware after i1384 which will be 1600mbps
