In an interview published in Allure, the "Closer" star described how growing up on the big screen had made her self-conscious, declaring, "I was reading [African-American sociologist] W.E.B. DuBois's stuff in school, and I was like 'Oh my God! I'm not black, but I know what it feels like!'"

funny story...

when one of my coworkers was little, she used to watch a lot of "black family" sitcoms...

anyhow to make a long story short...

she thought she was black (she's got blonde hair, blue eyes)
anyhow..
she used to say...yeah but those kids are"white"

she's not the brightest bulb in the tree....

I was born a poor black child.

I can relate because when I was a little girl (*sigh*, this so sooooo hard for me to say)......when....umm, when I was little, they.....(*sob*)...they used to call me......the white girls used to call me (*booohooo*)......nigger lips!!!!
God, after all these years I cannot believe I told someone that!
