Ok, so last month, we were supposed to play there with Porphyria, and a few other bands....The owner wants me to email him our lyrics and send him a demo , snail mail...
I take the time to send him a demo, edit our swears out (and any anti-jesus/god references), of our lyrics, and email him 3 times, from 3 weeks to 5 days, before the show.
The show was july 31st.
This past Sunday, I get this. (august 15th!!!!)

Thankfully, my band decided not to play this show because you never responded, even tho I had people waiting to see us there..(some showed up). If we HAD shown up to play, and werent on the bill, what would have happened? we would have lugged all of our gear down there for nothing, thats what. I emailed you 3 times before the show, snail mailed you a cd, and typed out our lyrics, just so we could play this show, and get our name out there as much as possible, and I recieve an email sayin 'sorry' on AUGUST 15th?? One email before the show you replied:

'I already have 5 bands on this bill.hmmmm' I reply with:

and then nothing until August 15th....over 2 WEEKS after the show!!! Very professional on your part, you know since youre running a 'business' and all. That will keep people wanting to play there, for sure!

Ive played at your old club ,before in concord with a different band, and it sucked. Im sure the new club sucks equally, if not more. Take this tip....if you want your club to do ANYTHING but shut down (again), stop trying to censor and edit bands that will draw crowds to your club.

The club itself is not bad, its just the people that run the place. The sound is pretty good. If someone else owned the club, that place would be perfect for shows.

I used to hate showing up to a club for the first time, You, could tell it was going to suck, cause either the floor was all lit up like disco-inferno, and everyone was dressed like they just got back from the soprano's set, someones grandmother was doing the lights, some dude named 'bob' got drunk enought to decide that he was going to run the sound, or the exit you get off to get to the club had billerica on it.

I live in nashua and drifters has always sucked, I mean come on its a fucking coffe/computer shop during the day.

I have no idea how the fuck my friend's band plays there all' they ever sing about is blood and smashing skulls.

I hope when "the peddlar's daughter" opens it wont be half as homoertotic as drifters, it is supposed to be a music venue/irish pub

I'm not going to say anything for or against drifters, but when Christian did Cafe Eclipse (I'm pretty sure it was the same guy) my old emo /indie rock band (read that right, emo -- though we sound mostly like the replacements, as anyone that saw us would tell you) played there and I said "fuck" at one point.

needless to say, Christian does the finger across the throat thing and they kill the PA, and then we were done.


like I said, nothing for or against, just relaying a story in which I played at a venue he worked and was stopped for saying a cuss word.

my friends band says that they play there all the time, all they do is edit the lyrics on the page they say all the swears on stasge, ive never seen them or heard them for a while so maybe they pussied down thats why they play there

That play any show ethic is an exercise is futility. Every band has that when they first start out but you soon realize that it's just as important what shows you don't play as it is the one's you do.
