Doom metal band YOB signs to Metal Blade Records!
Hailing from the ever-gray skies of Eugene Oregon comes YOB, a band destined
to make their mark in the DOOM metal scene worldwide. Formed in 1996 by
founding member Mike Scheidt YOB started creating and destroying ideas that
would become the foundation for one of DOOM metal’s most shining hopefuls.
YOB is prepared to release their new record The Illusion Of Motion through
Metal Blade Records on October 19th 2004. The Illusion Of Motion will
permanently secure YOB as one of the heaviest, most original DOOM metal
bands of any era past or present.

extremes that our fans expect of YOB, only more. Our slow riffs are much
slower and crushing and our faster tunes are more jagged and chaotic. Our
melodic parts are more atmospheric and our discordant riffs are angular and
throttling. The Illusion Of Motion has YOB's shortest tune ever clocking in
a just over 6 minutes and our longest tune clocking in at over 26 minutes.
And the vocal extremes that are displayed on our earlier records are even
more over the top. Plus this is our first recording with our new(ish)
drummer extraordinaire Travis Foster who has been crushing skulls with us
for almost two years now. It is by far our best record yet in songwriting as
well as production and we are very happy to release it with Metal Blade

Expect the band to play a number of shows on the west coast throughout the
rest of 2004, which will include a west coast tour that will take the band
down to San Francisco to play at The Days of Darkness festival on Friday
September 3rd. After that the band will embark on a full US tour in the
spring of 2005. Dates and support acts will be announced as soon as they are
