CARPOOLING will save room. Otherwise park in downtown dover and walk to the house.

Kok, we went to practice, but Tom had the poops and couldn't make it, so we just set up all the crap and played a couple of songs. We practice on Thursday. I guess I'll try to leave work here in Concord at 4:00 on Friday and head down to jam space -- that is, if this thing still happens. What's this shit about somebody's mom putting the kebosh on this event (per the recent posts)?

birth rites: initially, I was mad at them.. radio station bullshit. they only played a couple songs. tom got a new drum set too. no longer does he had the tiny toy kit he got when he was 12. this is a full kit, a man's kit. it seems to have effected his drumming too. he's a lot more forceful and bangs the shit out of them.

pray for a plague: take todays the day's good stuff and mix it with pig destoryer and mix in a little agoraphobic nosebleed vocals and you got pfap. they played the most songs out of all the bands. at one point jonathan birthrites moshed into the band.

hand chock neck: my first times sseeing them. this band was the homewrecker to bent hogan, resinate, and diaster piece. you all are better off in this band. it started off sounded like dying fetus, but there were these metal-bridges that sounded semi-like metalcore, but more melodic. the songs towards the end of the set got more and more melodic and less like df.

porphyria: sick as hell. they did the black dahlia murder thing and played with no shirts since there was a 110% humidity and 110 degree temps in that room.

life at zero: these guys sound just like someone with the new singer and I can't place it. I'm going to figure it out at some point. they played the hottest, sweatiest set I've ever seen from them.

birth rites: gay music... someone in the band also got some douchebag to overwrite the site rev programmed for them. i heard about some shit talk towards the rest of the bands...ps-white belts are gay.

pfap: tight grind, tim is a machine, so is alex.

hcn: sick sound, guitar mix sounded killer. nice set guys. not enough mosh for them.

life at zero: only got to play 3 songs, but played tight as hell despite the intense heat in there. i don't even want to be in the room if they get another guitarist.

we need to change the name of that place to the sweat lodge. holy shit. the bottoms of my pants were wet from all of the sweat and condensation on the floor. all things considered, I had a hell of a time, all of the bands ruled, and I think it was one of our best sets. I don't know what the deal is with all of the scene kids. they're just lucky shaniqua and the skull-fuckers were not there.

oh tom, i would never shit talk any other bands playing. and i didn't. except yours. indie rock without shirts i believe?

dude, Shaniqua tormented the kids in Conway. It was great! they got a lot tighter and explained some of the songs, so now they make more sense and I actually like them more.

yah i was eating for the first two bands. i saw porphyria, who kills it every time. and hcn. lovely bunch of boys and of course life at zero. there was a bunch of people there for porphyria but then somehow they all just disapeared. and then the people that "just came to see (insert band name here)" of course all left. so of course by the time laz went on, it was like playing in a shrunken version of the jam room. but it seemed like all 10 people that were there enjoyed it. despite being the hottest sweat dripping show ive ever been to. and the no drinking on premises, which we all got around, it wasnt a bad show. those bands together always equal a great time. the last three anyway. tom, did you hear what the emo fags said when they were leaving? they said everyone was a bunch of long haired scumbags or something and they drove gas guzzling suv's so they were leaving. of course nothing was said to andy or jesse or jake or steve's face. go figure

b.r.- the distorted keyboards were cool, different type of music, but I couldnt help but laugh at the Mick Jagger antics. Even Mick looks like an asshole when he does it. Not my bag.

pfap- Im not a grind fan, but pfap was SIIICK. they need a bassist, but for a guitar and drumset, it was a FULL sound. The guys are nuts and put on a great show.

porphyria-sick. fucking great guitars, u guys rip..Tim is, as usual, awesome up front. drums pwnd, sweet set.

we actually had to leave. i stuck around for my friends in PFAP because they destroy, but our drummers works the night shift, and i was so drunk i stumbled around dover. no disrespect to the other bands of course. plus - it was too damn hot in there.

I had a great show....I have no disrespect toward any bands that played there. I thought that Birthrights was pretty cool, even though I'm not a huge fan of that type of music. I do however like, "Cecilia and the silhouette saloon" by the Blood Brothers.

Anyhow, if the dude from BR had to work....I can understand that. However, I know that EVERY show I play...I stay until the very last band plays....that is a respect issue. We're all in this together because it's what we live for. We're performers, plain and simple. Sometimes our ego's get in the way...it's bound to happen. The bottem line is this, no one band here in New England or anywhere in any scene for that matter can survive without other bands. We all hold each other up in one way or the other. just a couple closing points for me - because really, i don't hate all you kids.

1. never talked shit about toms band AT ALL. i've never seen them, and while i don't like tom personally, that doesn't mean i think his band is a bunch of fags. i would never say that. just about him.

2. the gas guzzling comment. that was all part of the random babbling i always do when BR plays. anyone who has seen us before knows that i say weird random things when we play, and that comment was in no way meant as an attack. stream of conciousness is what it was. i love gas guzzling.

3. i don't care who we play with ever. if i had a problem with it, i wouldn't have agreed to play. and i would have stayed longer, but like i said i was drunk and sweaty and thought i was going to pass out or something. no disrespect intended. i'll play with metal bands, indie bands, country bands, whatever. i love music, bottom line. and i love shows like that that prove NH still cares about keeping things underground.

i'm just saying all this so people don't see me as a complete asshole. there are some people i'd love to punch in the face, but regardless - as a whole, i'm glad to be a part of the local scene in anyway possible. and by scene i don't mean wearing white belts and tight pants. i've been putting on dirty basement shows since january, and while maybe not all bands playing are your cups of tea, its still getting the music scene around here going. so how about a little more love, and a little less fighting over something as stupid as personal preference in music.
