It's at this place called La Mia Casa. I've never even heard of this place so I have no idea how it is.

...is this the only show Toxik is playing, or are they doing some sort of small tour? Toxik with Sonic Pulse in bumfuck NH...good for those guys but that's just a weird show considering it will be the 2nd or 3rd time they've played North America since coming back.

Mike, Toxik is also playing NYC at Saint Vitus on halloween. As far as I can tell, those are the only two shows.

Its because they arent worth the guarantee they demand.

What does Toxik demand for shows on the East Coast?

I imagine west coast, European, Japanese, etc. shows would be pricey to get them though.

concerning this show, which in fact, i would consider a "local" show for them, they want $1000 minimum guarantee.

Even if only 100 people bought tickets in advance at 10 dollars a pop, they'll be able to pay the venue. Factor in venue costs, staff costs, etc. - then let's say the venue needs 200 people to show up.

It's Toxik and some killer local bands. They'll have no problem.

$1000 isn't much at all these days.

Maybe if it were in Boston or Ralphs/Dusk, but I can't imagine this show drawing that much, I imagine someone is about to lose $500+, guess we'll see.

Well... I kinda do but for me Toxik is the real selling point.

Now there's an interesting questions: how many people will have to attend this for the booker to not be left holding a bag of dog shit.
-6 bands puts 25 non payers in attendance
-6 bands puts 6 non-paying 'roadies' in attendance
-25 band members puts 10 non-paying girlfriends in attendance (just one of the perks to dating a band member along with a free ride to the show is their 1996 honda civic after they get off of shift at newbury comics warehouse)

That's 41ish non payers. If the promoter can keep 70% of the door they'd need 142 paying attendees. That means each band member would have to convince nearly 6 of their friends to attend. Note those 6 friends can't be in any of the bands playing, or fucking anyone in them. This is a tall order indeed.

Assuming they can convince 125% of their friends/colleagues/co-workers to come to this suck fest in god-knows-where, NH (inc 1733) they then have to find parking for the 183 people who show up. None of them can get lost, and none can run out of gas on the way there (because Loser "Still Willing To Travel 2 Hours for a Local Show Case" McShitjob's bank doesn't clear his pay check until midnight and can't afford gas until then).

90% of people who come will clearly be coming for Toxik.

tl;dr version- Cancelled.

What I heard was: dead by wednesday's frontman got arrested for burglarizing a pharmacy at night, stealing a bunch of narcotics, and fleeing on foot. subsequently, he was let go from the band so they cancelled. Then out of left field I hear some rumors the whole gig is cancelled (similar to the onslaught/artillery situation that was supposed to happen there) and now the event was officially cancelled.
