Did getting to Terminus really need to be a half season long expedition?

Man, this season had some of the better episodes of the entire series - so I was hopeful for this finale.

Man, that sucked dick though.

"They screwed with the wrong people." ANTICLIMATIC FTW.

Also, got to love the absolutely pointless attempt at emulating Lost with those flashbacks.

Also, got to love the use of the word "screwing."

Scott Gimple: This finale's all about showing Rick's moral deterioration.

AMC Exec: What do you have in mind?

Scott Gimple: He stabs one guy abunch, and then bites another guy's neck!

AMC Exec: I love it! What else?

Scott Gimple: We're thinking maybe he says "fucking" at an appropriate moment at the end of the episode?

AMC Exec: Whoa, let's not go overboard. That might upset someone.

This season was the greatest ever or anticlimactic.

Greatest in the show's history.

AKA, still an absolute shitfest when compared to the vast majority of TV shows.

I thought that the zoom in on rick was going to be something like a flash to something we missed and that rick did something so that zombies would get into terminus.

The best part of the episode was
1) rick sitting there recovering (homage to the comic)
2) rick headbutting that other dude.

I had to watch the headbutt over and over and over to see what exactly happened.

The gun shots herding rick's people to the train car sucked. so painful.
Why would rick think riot gear? oh it had to come from the jail!

As a whole it wasn't a bad season at all. They could have actually gotten to Terminus and had something worthwhile cool happen before the end of the season though.

The director was on The Talking Dead (which can eat my shit because it's always on until 11:05 or something arbitrary and dishes out spoilers if you're trying to watch the 11:00 airing and Chris Hardwick is a shark jumping ravioli) and said that it took so many episodes to get there so the characters could develop their backstories.... AGAIN.

- How much more backstory did we need with Daryl and Merle? Their dad was a drunk. NO WAI SERIOUSLY???
- Did knowing Mischone was a socialite art enthusiast do anything for her? I was perfectly happy not knowing anything about her past.
- Beth and the quest for her first drink. I would have needed my first drink to give a shit.
- Weirdo procession with out of shape army guy, Meatloaf, and the hot hispanic girl for no reason... I'm assuming this was in the comics (never got that far) and I'll give it the benefit of the doubt because the girl is hot but it's on notice.

I like that they are turning darryl into conor oberst slowly. The season as a whole was decent, but man... they could have done so much more. The stuff they did do was forced so that way too much happened way too quickly. Beth gets kidnapped.. two seconds later darrly is with larry and his other brother darryl being all indoor/outdoor cat.
