I posted this on the Facebook. But I want:
1) hatchback
2) 38mpg+
3) navigation system
4) iPad connection/phone/tablet

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 6,2013 1:59pm
I also only want to spend around $22k. Back up cams are a major plus.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 6,2013 2:00pm
I drive the veloster and loved it minus the lack of view around the car.

Right now I'm at the Mazda dealership looking at the Mazda 3.

toggletoggle post by largefreakatzero at Oct 6,2013 4:04pm
VW TDI wagon.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 6,2013 4:08pm
When I looked at the very they wet too pricey for everything.

The Mazda 3 hatchback with everything I want sort of doesn't exist... The configuration that would be like $31k...

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 6,2013 4:10pm
I test drove a Ford focus with everything I want ted but it had leather seats and heated seats. 2 things I don't want. There is no way to get everything I want without things I don't.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 6,2013 4:10pm
The Ford focus was $23.4

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 6,2013 4:19pm
I walked into Toyota and they were like "I don't think many people are making hatchbacks anymore" and then they showed me a sedan... Ugh.

toggletoggle post by demondave at Oct 6,2013 4:57pm
My wife has a ford focus with a ton of extras. Great car but it doesn't seem to match what you are looking for.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 6,2013 5:03pm
Like I said above, I drove one of the with everything I wanted except also heated and leather seats.

toggletoggle post by conservationist  at Oct 6,2013 8:29pm
Get a Volvo. Go full yuppie.

toggletoggle post by illinoisenemaBradness at Oct 6,2013 10:01pm

Leasing is great if you want a new car every three years and to never be responsible for any problems. Sort of like leasing housing, actually.

Get a new Honda civic fool

toggletoggle post by largefreakatzero at Oct 7,2013 9:20am
He can't lease with the miles he drives. Leasing is fine if you don't go anywhere.

Buy used.

toggletoggle post by Pig Bag of Assorted Nigger Parts at Oct 7,2013 9:35am
Leasing is just like the scene, it doesn't go anywhere.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 7,2013 3:23pm
yeah, leasing is dumb... I would be over my lease for 5 years in 1.5years.

I'm about to turn 225,000 on my Tundra. I'm shooting for 350,000 before it dies. I bought that thing brand new in 2005. They're close to double the price now. Fuck that shit.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 8,2013 9:49am
I might have figured out a way to pass inspection...

I don't know which of their vehicles most fits what you're looking for, but Hyundai - in general - is known for good gas mileage, and the longest warranties.

I bought a 2011 Accent brand new, I'm up 60,000 miles and it's still functioning almost as good as the day I bought it.

60K is nothing... It always amazes me when people are having problems with their cars at 80K-120K miles. I didn't have any issues with my Honda Civic Hybrid until around 175K when the catty needed to be replaced. Then the hybrid batteries went to crap at 270K. I could keep driving it at 330K with just and oil change and maybe spark plugs. But it won't pass inspection cause of the hybrid batteries kicking off a code. I'm trying to drive in a way to keep the batteries topped off. If that works, I might be able to get it to pass inspection once again.

60k in 2 years, in a subcompact, functioning almost as well as the day I bought it makes me a happy guy so far.

I'm hoping it lasts a lot longer than this (obviously).

In general, they do have a good reputation, as far as cars lasting.

Try the Bravado Buffalo or the BF Injection rev

Dare I ask what a new set of batteries for that thing costs? At 330K, it definitely doesn't owe you anything though.

toggletoggle post by grilled_dickcheese_sandwich  at Oct 8,2013 2:03pm
At 60K, a Hyundai will need a new timing chain. Don't fuck with that shit.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 8,2013 2:06pm
new batteries are $2K. with 330K miles, putting $2K into a car makes no sense.

toggletoggle post by grilled_dickcheese_sandwich  at Oct 8,2013 2:09pm
At 330k, the only thing that makes sense is buying a new car.

toggletoggle post by largefreakatzero at Oct 8,2013 2:29pm
Yup, time for a new ride. I would still look into used. I don't think I'll ever buy new again.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 8,2013 2:55pm
I have a very select set of needs/wants and little time to do it in.

Get a Mini. You'll save on gas mileage and be attractive to both sexes.

So... I'm getting a 2014 Mazda. I was on the way to the dealership and my Honda's electrical system died on me. Still hoping to drive the Honda for 2-3 more days.
