New site? Maybe some day.
|
So yeah. I'm looking to either start up or join an old school heavy/speed/thrash metal band. I'm down to do any one of those styles pretty much.
Influences include:
Running Wild, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Diamond Head, Razor, Pariah, early Metallica, Exciter, Saxon, Enforcer, early Slayer... well you get the idea!
I'm 25 and I have experience as a frontman. I have played all over New England, and as far out west as Ohio.
Playing metal is my whole life and I would love to either start a band from the ground up or join something kind of along these lines. |
|
If someone actually did a band that sounded like those influences I would be psyched, but I gues Ill believe it when I see it. Either way, at least its not another grindcore or black metal band. |
|
A band I was in for a couple years, Cromulent, was trying to do something like this. But I'd be the first to admit we had some issues with executing well. heh. |
|
I mean I think what it comes down to with bands like Running Wild and Exciter is that it was a time and a place. Face it guys, its just not the same as it was in the 80s anymore. Either way, give it a try I guess. |
|

Heavy metal is timeless, man. I have some riffs and stuff already written. I just need some dudes who are willing to try to make this happen. The surest way for it to not happen is to not try.

Shit didn't mean to post that twice. I thought the first one didn't go through. |

Honestly, most of the death metal bands in the area play a style that I don't even care for. No offense to them its just my taste. I wish there were a doomier death band in the area besides Blessed Offal. |
|
just wait til you hear the Innumerable Forms split material. You wont be disappoint, son. |
|
who innumerable forms? How can they be overrated if noone knows who they are? |

Who are you OP? Very interested, as long as it's not ironic, 'retro', or 'tongue-in-cheek' in any way. |
|
OP is paul bailoffs digital image circa 1985. Like that dr who episode about the library where the girl dies inside her suit and her communcator picks up her digital image and allows her to communicate temporarily to the living. |

Oh, it won't be. Just no bullshit old school heavy metal. I'm not going for like White Wizzard or that kind of stuff. Like I'm aiming for this to actually sound old school. Yes, I'm about to reveal who I am, but whatever. I have nothing to hide. Here is my Facebook.

Sure I do. I like some of his albums. I also dig that band Steeler he was in back in '83 before he went solo. |
|
Interested in just such a project actually, but you come across like the creepy guy that made Arnold and Sam take off their shirts and play horsie.

Hell no, man. That's fucked up. |

Thundersteel said he wasn't posting here anymore then just created a new account. Who does he think he is Conquer the Baphomet? |

Nope. I don't think I'm anybody. And if you plan on trolling me, do it in person if you ever see me at a show. I'd bet a solid wager that you wouldn't have the balls to do so. |
|
HAHAHAHA!!! There is 0% chance of me going to one of your shows. Good luck forming another retread of an era you didn't live through. |

Don't then. Nobody ever said you had to. I've already accepted that you dislike me for whatever reason, but regardless I still think you're far too spineless to ever say shit to me face to face in real life. You're all big and bad when you're safe behind the computer, but I think that's about as far as it goes. And even then you're a little wimp because you hide behind an anonymous guise. I'm sorry but I just can't take that seriously. |
|
How many accounts are you going to make? |

Agreed and support.
Folks these days insist on putting their shitty guitars through 12 Teletubbie pedals with all knobs to the right. Listen back to half the bands on that list and you'll hear guitars with natural amplifier distortion, with GREAT sounds, without having to resort to artificial distortion... A lot of those guys were heavy as fuck because they played heavy and played LOUD, not because they plug their Korean and Mexican knockoff dickrods through EQs and stompboxes that squash the signal into a nasaly-sounding fagstorm of AIDS.
Fuckin metal. Hope this kid does something good. |
|
Im interested man. Haters can fuck off. Ill send you some riffs. |

Cool man. My e-mail is seekndestroyy87@aim.com. |

Hope you find some personnel who can go onstage without 10+ beers in their bloodstream (Tomasz!) Good luck anyway... |
|
I honestly can't envision Seax without Carmine, good luck bud. |
|
There were some inside issues going on for some time. I was hoping to resolve them, but I guess that wasn't to be. Sucks but it is what it is. I refuse to stay down for long though. Playing heavy metal is what I love and I hope to get together with some other dudes who share the same passion and make some great music and get back out there. |
