see the documentaries too, there's one recent and one from like ten years ago (Nick Broomfield I think?)

instead of out-and-out Evil Dead gore, focus on the PSYCHOLOGICAL terror that ensued during this film. It sure sent me to a dark place I wasn't ready for. Ugh.

however, it did not dethrone Henry. That film is the SCARIEST.

Did Laura Linney (Sean Penn's movie wife) have something to do with ordering Katie's (Sean Penn's movie daughter) death? I noticed a very Lady Macbeth look on her face at the parade...did she not want Katie to inherit the store? That last fuckin' speech of hers chilled me to the bone. Creepy ass ending.

I think it was more of a 'dont let this ruin us' speech. also maybe trying to make sean penn feel better about killing the wrong person in pure vengeance. I liked the end when kevin bacon does the thumb gun and sean penn gestures as if to say....what ya gonna do bitch? bring it.

my parents rented the MONSTER dvd so I just watched it because of this thread.... DAMN I thought that aileen girl was so ugly and couldn't figure out why exactly until I realized she had no eyebrows... lol. The actor is pretty, it's weird how they made her so nasty looking.

pretty good movie though, I just wanted her to kill herself the entire time. What's up with seeing the ugly girls boob and not seeing Ricci's boob during the sex scene? WTF?

Read the book, she was saying that Sean Penn is her king, remember he was a former gang member that ran a crime ring, now he's just a store owner, she's a psycho bitch, that is turned on by a powerful man. A man that would kill for his family, even if it was the wrong guy. The book blew the movie out of the water just like they always do

I saw Monster recently, I think Christina Ricci is awful in it, but Charlize Theron deserved that Oscar. One of the best movies of 2003, up there with Kill Bill and Return of the King, in my opinion.
