I was going to make some kind of "OH NOESss" wisecrack, and then I saw Airheads on that list.

Fuck you Starz.

I don't get this move at all. It's free money for Starz who just has to sign the distribution rights away. Do they really think this is going to help them get more cable subscribers? Then again I don't get why networks continually try to fight evolving media paradigms.

hahaha i just watched Airheads last night. fantastic movie.

I don't understand why contracts are needed for such a service when Netflix can distribute the DVDs already. It's the same principle, only difference is it is more convenient for the consumer. Why does a separate deal need to be made?

I had Starz for two years while I had Dish Network. One year for free for signing up and then another year because of some anniversary thing. I barely watched anything on those channels. LOTR Fellowship comes to mind, maybe a cheesy Pauly Shore movie, but mostly it's the shit movies the better cable networks don't want

Party Down will be what I miss most. That show was AWESOME.

In related news, I just gave my mom my Netflix password. Can't wait for my "suggested for you" rows to go from all documentaries, B-grade horror and sleaze to tons of Agatha Christie mysteries and knitting shows.

but what if the list goes even further into sleaze and b-grade horror?

This. I let my little brother use my netflix account and recommendations are now filled with WWE, MTV shows and other shit that I would never watch.
