Pilgrim was awesome. Other bands were awesome too but that was to be expected. Guess the dudes in pilgrim are all 19 years old.....Get into this band.

Yeah, a lot of times people mistake us for a "doom" band. I mean, we have some doom elements, but we've got a lot of other elements thrown in there too, I don't really consider Black Pyramid a doom band because I have a lot of respect for the genre.
But a lot of people don't really know what "doom" is when the music is described, or they think anything slow or Sabbath derived = doom.
If someone were to ask me what "doom" sounded like, I'd play them Pilgrim. THAT'S doom in its purest form. No frills, no effects, just three guys wallowing in a sea of Sabbath, Candlemass, and Vitus. Glad people are starting to recognize them, good kids, they're going to go far. Now someone sign them, if you know what's good for you...
Other bands were awesome too, Dead Languages has come a long way since first time I saw them, and Faces Of Bayon brought their A-game. Good crowd, thanks to everyone for coming out, great seeing a lot of you guys, and taking part in "parking lot rituals."

this was a heavy show but a boring show. pilgrim was boring after 2 songs but are a good new band. dead languages was typical. black pyramid was good but all songs sound the same after a while and the bassist looks like he is in flogging molly. faces of bayon killed it. he has the best effects with his guitar

this dude doesn't like riffs, point and laugh

Matt's effects, the sounds he gets out of the guitar, are insane. Ron is no slouch either in that department...
Our bassist plays in a Flogging Molly tribute band in his spare time. He plays the kilt and tin whistle.
I play in an ABBA tribute band when I'm not doing Black Pyramid, because I love Swedish metal.
Show was awesome. Made me want to get more into doom. Will check out that other thread now.
Never seen black pyramid. Really good stuff.
Definitely get into more doom. It's a great, and oft overlooked, genre of metal. Goes back to Sabbath and the founders, you know? Can't go wrong with that. ONE OF US! ONE OF US!
Glad you dug our set, we had a lot of fun playing for everyone, and were really feeling it by the end. Great energy at this show, from everyone.
^this. I wore earplugs for the whole show as I usually do, and when I got in my car afterwards there was a low-pitched SCREAMING in my ears. It went away by the time I woke up 4 hours later, but damn it was loud.

Such a good show, all bands where awesome. Psyched to finally catch Pilgrim live. FOB and Black Pyramid always reaffirm my love of music, drinks, RITUALS.
Also: It is known that I play typical riffs in a typical band after I get done with my typical job in my typical week. Typically.
