I officially hope there are some really cool bands on this really cool show

toggletoggle post by AUTOPSY_666   at Jun 2,2011 10:11pm
New venue would be cool.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jun 2,2011 11:07pm
a new venue for you not to go to?

toggletoggle post by AUTOPSY_666   at Jun 2,2011 11:24pm
I might go in 2012.

toggletoggle post by Kevord  at Jun 2,2011 11:53pm
I'm planning on leaving my living room and crossing state lines next year for this. I've gone too long withought experiencing MDF at least once.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jun 3,2011 12:00am
One might say over 9 years

toggletoggle post by Kevord  at Jun 3,2011 12:08am
I put off going to Milwaukee Metalfest so long they stopped having it.

Only withstanding the fall of time is real

toggletoggle post by goatcatalyst   at Jun 3,2011 9:17am
Remember when Milwaukee was relevant? Damn, I'm old.

toggletoggle post by RustyPS is on the move at Jun 3,2011 9:22am
Ghost is going to play every time slot on all 4 days of this, and the coordinators are going to be laughing all the way to the bank

toggletoggle post by AUTOPSY_666   at Jun 3,2011 1:52pm
97-98 were amazing MMFs!

toggletoggle post by Kevord  at Jun 3,2011 1:58pm
92 is the year I always hear people crowing about.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jun 3,2011 2:01pm
dwyer couldn't go that year. they were giving him a retirement party at the plant.

toggletoggle post by arkquimanthorn at Jun 3,2011 2:06pm

toggletoggle post by Alx_Casket  at Jun 3,2011 2:11pm
is this the famed Spinny 5 show the kids are talking about?

toggletoggle post by AndrewBastard  at Jun 3,2011 2:23pm

toggletoggle post by boblovesmusic   at Jun 3,2011 2:52pm

Interview from around 1996

Fenris said
I know you do not like playing live, but if a promoter guaranteed DARKTHRONE at least 100 diehard fans at a venue with a good PA system, stage, etc. would you consider doing it?
"Even if JR from Dallas was doing backing vocals we wouldn't play live man, because Larry Hagman is the evil one!"

I hope this means JR is going to show up so fenris changes his mind

toggletoggle post by Kevord  at Jun 3,2011 3:00pm
I know Nocturno Culto did a Darkthrone set with Satyricon at a festival a few years back. So I guess anything is possible. I'm in for next year already but I'd kill everyone I know for a chance to see Darkthrone.

toggletoggle post by Mark_R at Jun 3,2011 3:05pm
Was that Wacken? I know I've seen a Wacken Tshirt from some year with Darkthrone at the top.

toggletoggle post by Kevord  at Jun 3,2011 3:07pm
It might have been Wacken. I don't remember.

toggletoggle post by Kevord  at Jun 3,2011 3:12pm
Immortal or another Emperor reunion for next year wouldn't surprise me.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Jun 3,2011 3:16pm
don't even speak of Darkthrone doing a set. to do so puts a hex on the possibility. i'd walk to Maryland to see that.

It was Wacken 2004 and probably the last time Wacken was worth seeing. Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Coheed & Cambria played last year...

toggletoggle post by NuclearWinter at Jun 3,2011 3:33pm
I want to see Nifelheim and/ or Pagan Altar as indoor headliners next year. MDF seems to shy away from South American bands. Bring Witchtrap, Hadez, Mystifier, Holocausto, Vulcano, Anal Vomit, etc.

toggletoggle post by AndrewBastard  at Jun 3,2011 3:33pm
while all my predictions are bands I'd love to see, half of those are legit predictions in that I've heard rumors or something along those lines...

I was right about Exhorder and Coroner last year...

toggletoggle post by DestroyYouAlot  at Jun 3,2011 3:34pm
is this sold out?

And Coroner was a fest highlight. I hope you predict Samael and Tiamat for next year.

toggletoggle post by Lamp  at Jun 3,2011 3:57pm
Next year's MDF will have bands on it

toggletoggle post by AndrewBastard NLI at Jun 3,2011 4:10pm
hahah..coroner got better as the set went on but fuck me those first two songs made me want to die...

Damn, I didn't know Grinrod appreciated the kings of Century Media flower metal...

I predict SAMAEL tours before the year is out, or maybe very early 2012, and that the US hates TIAMAT and we have a better chance of making a time machine to go back to the Wildhoney US tour than seeing new dates :(

And speaking of South American bands, a GOAT SEMEN US show would be pretty amazing.

toggletoggle post by Boblovesmdf at Jun 3,2011 6:20pm
I'm also hoping for a pagan altar appearance at mdf, that would be frickin awesome!

toggletoggle post by NuclearWinter at Jun 3,2011 6:23pm
My internet sarcasm was in full effect, comrade.

toggletoggle post by Headbanging_Man at Jun 3,2011 6:50pm
WEAK

toggletoggle post by NuclearWinter at Jun 3,2011 8:28pm
What's not weak is Sumerian Cry. Or anything by Treblinka, for that matter.
