February 12th
RICH HORROR'S PARTY MACHINE #23
Witch Tomb [Hateful Boston Black Death Apocalypse]
Darkwor [The Most Hitpoints Of Any Band]
Cythraul [Anti-Human Race Black Metal]
Sarcomancy [Local Brew Weed Ritual]
@ O'Briens - 3 Harvard Ave - Allston, MA
$8 - 9 pm - 21+
Cool, this will make up for the last show I went to when witchtomb didn't play. Been wanting to check them out for a while. Cythraul isn't like cirith-ungol, but they are pretty sick to see also.
1) I was in O'Briens bathroom once and some asshole from Unholy Goatfucker came in and started smearing shit all over his body, I mean paint. I saw him kneeling in the corner like a mammal in a tar pit, and when I tried to resume pissing I flashed back to all my timber wolf bretheren who vanished into the La Brea Tar Pits. This was at 8:15 AM on MLK Day, ~WTF~.
2) What if instead of this show we all went and got some fried plantains with lemon yogurt sauce. And stayed sad though.
All of Darkwor is coming from Worcester with all of Darkwor's gear and all of Darkwor's members, at like 6 or 7 or something, we're definitely not doing taxi duty for this one.
FOR THE RECORD, FAT CHICKS WHO FALL ARE FUNNY. FAT CHICKS WHO FALL IN SNOW IS REALLY FUNNY. FAT CHICKS WHO FALL IN SNOW REPEATED TIMES BECAUSE THEIR FEISTY FOR NO GOOD REASON, REALLY FUCKING FUNNY.
TRYING TO BE THE KNIGHT OF O'BRIENS AND ALL "THAT'S A FEMALE WTF GUY".... DUDE, IT'S FAT CHICK FALLING IN THE SNOW AT O'BRIENDS, RELAX. FUCKING TRY HARD.

Steve/DYA took one for the team. Cocaine and confused hip hop kids should be aloud to play together.
for the record, Charlie and Jeremy (the 2 that seem to have started the fight), neither of them do coke.
In fact, Charlie could prob hold his own smoking teh pot with Steve...

EVERYBODY STOP BEING FUCKING GIRLS ABOUT IT
I've been going to shows for long enough that a little love-tap isn't gonna ruin my night. Next time bring 2-3 more dudes and I'll worry about it.
Dumb shit happened and I immediately realized that nobody had any fucking clue what was happening, which is why nobody's got face bust.
Sorry about the wall Rich, I threw a couple dudes at it. My b.
Twas a good show. Sarcomancy killed it (BSVs shoes ftw), Cythraul sounded way better than I remembered them, I suppose it's the full lineup they got now. Darkwor was a bit rusty but still managed to bring the funk, Witch Tomb sounded good again until the power was pulled. Felt bad for them.
I had a fucking blast; thanks for the killer response to all upfront 'bros. FEELS GOOD, MAN
LOL @ Sarcomancy starting playing to 5 people and ending up with half a packed house
Oh yeah, big ups to Staples for buying a CD, josh_hates_you for the ride and the whole gang for the smoke and nerding out over Nunslaughter and THA KANG at the Sarcocrypt.
Seriously that was a ruling good time, but in retrospect what the fuck even happened? All I know is I got hit in the back and turned around and someone was tussling with Steve so I punched them a few times.
If this really fucked with with your O'briens steez Rich that fucking blows and I'm sorry.
Darkwor was pretty sick, despite the four hour intro.
:(

Someone should have beat the shit out of the fat chick and the ugly bald guy from witchfag. Otherise the show was okay at best. Bands that sound like Blasphemy rips are bands that sound like black death rips.

This show = Only not being able to handle your booze is real.
The Cody cameo in the Cythraul set was damn cool.

shit guy! the BLOOD OF THE GODS disc is fucking EXCELLENT. Spun it on repeat today a few times! I also found a few other Fate/King 7"s misfiled, you should come back for a rager vinyl night.
Due to everything that went down at this show, I've been given the official word that I'm not allowed to book at O'Briens anymore. I assume March 11th is now canceled, but will let everyone know once I hear 100% regarding that.
This is the fucking worst news I have heard in a while.

the staff at O'Brien's has changed sooooooo many times since days of Boston's Dead. This whole incident was rather small and contained. The arrogant staff doesn't appreciate metal. Oh well. You still got Born of Fire.
Remember how hostile shit got back before the remodel? Nights when we would topple the PA, crash into Purp's board, random BU kids getting knocked out, smash windows with bricks, spill beer on dwyer's distro, $1 PBR, catfights, smoke weed in the backroom and be underage. That first Superchrist show had strong BURN IT TO THE GROUND feeling to it....NEVAH FORGET THAT ANCIENT FEELING.

for real, i can't believe this minor shit causes them to lose an entire crowd. this can't be the first time stuff like this has happened.
I'm pretty sure my old company had obrien's insurance policy. that's what they're probably worried about.. someone suing the venue for injuries obtained. although I'd doubt anyone involved would want to sue. happens all the time. some girl was suing Lupo's for getting hit in the pit. (OOPS NOT SUPPOSED TO TALK ABOUT IT)
we had a submission for Great Scott a few years back and the first question the underwriters were asking was if there were mosh pits...
basically any venue/bar that books metal shows are taking risks. the insurance companies do not like mosh pits, or anything else associated with a potential risk which could lead to injury, rape, or DUIs. It's a shame... I wish there were more good venues willing to take risks. It's hard to find places like Obrien's that are usually laid back about that kind of stuff.
Regardless, best of luck Rich.. may you find a bar/venue that suits your needs without overstepping boundaries with security measures, etc.

I've had venues that've wanted me to work for them for years now, but I've always remained loyal to O'Briens and given them first shot at everything. Working with a place for seven years means a lot to me.
