First off, I'm trying to get a few freelance writing jobs, mainly having to do with the entertainment industry, so I'll be writing submission articles, and I'm going to be asking for opinions on the topics I'll be writing about.

The first thing I'm writing about is violence for entertainment, and the power it has to draw people into a state of awe and pure adrenaline.

Anything from movies, tv, fighting (street brawling or cage fighting), or even video games, what exactly is it that draws your attention?

In all honesty though, this topic has been ground into dust. I have absolutely no idea how to go about getting freelance writing jobs (if you figure it out please share I'd love to know). But unless you plan to take a very fresh approach on an old topic, I think you're setting yourself up for the delete pile.

I've got a degree in English.

I'd suggest avoiding all writing jobs for the rest of your life.

Write for fun, or get a phd and become a professor about it.

Well yeah it's not gonna be my one full time job. I'm going to school to be a paramedic, this is just a secondary thing,

And I agree the topic has gone to dust a bit. I'm just looking to see what's out there.

Public crucifixtions or GTFO.

toggletoggle post by immortal13 at Jan 18,2011 4:55pm
Even that stuff too. Public crucifixions, stonings, hangings.
