I'm now writing for a webzine called the Zombie Research Society, and I'll be covering movies and TV related to zombies. So I already know I'm gonna do a whole recap on the season of The Walking Dead, as well as other things I have planned. I start submitting my articles this month, and the site will take off and have everything posted in early January.

So basically, I need to watch a lot of zombie related movies and write about them. And I know for a fact that there are fanatics on this forum.

Ummm, really? There's a fucking million of them.

Start with Zombie, Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, etc.

Some of my more cult favourites though are City Of The Living Dead, Let Sleeping Corpses Lie, and Reanimator.

I know there's a lot of them, and I plan on writing for them for a while, so as more movies means more to write about.

Thanks though dude!

toggletoggle post by eyehatehippies  at Dec 1,2010 8:39pm
I'd start with those six then, if you haven't seen them...

toggletoggle post by immortal13 at Dec 1,2010 8:41pm
I've seen night of the living dead and both versions of dawn of the dead, among shitloads of other zombie movies. I'll check out the other four for sure.

I'd watch The Beyond also. Not really a traditional "Zombie" movie, but it's interesting because it's Fulci, and he added lots of zombie elements to it, because really, that's just his thing.

Skip Quarantine and instead go with Rec and then Rec2

toggletoggle post by immortal13 at Dec 1,2010 8:53pm
Thanks!

The Beyond is one of my favorite movies of all time.

toggletoggle post by dertoxia   at Dec 1,2010 10:32pm
I'd say my favorite zombie movie is Tombs of the Blind Dead. It's not a typical 'zombies are everywhere' kind of movie. It's more like these kids stumble upon an old castle and awake these knights who are cursed and ride around on horseback.

You just gotta make sure u watch it in spanish with subtitles. The engligh overdub version is edited.

Tombs of the Blind Dead is fucking fantastic. Only dummies don't adore it.

Good enough for Hooded Menace, good enough for all. I double dog dare you to find a more auspicious endorsement of a film.

Rev, put this in you queue:

Shock Waves
(alternate titles: Almost Human, Death Corps), is a 1977 horror movie written and directed by Ken Wiederhorn. despite it's limited release, The film has become a cult classic.

Plot
The film features Peter Cushing as a Nazi commander who commanded a division of SS soldiers - 'Der Toten Korps', who can 'live' underwater - intended to man U-boats which need no oxygen and never need to surface. The film also stars John Carradine and Brooke Adams in her first film. Director Ken Wiederhorn's additional horror credits include Eyes Of A Stranger (Warner Bros. 1983); Return Of The Living Dead, Part II (Lorimar 1988); and A House In The Hills. The backdrop ship is the SS Sapona, a concrete-hulled cargo steamer that ran aground near Bimini during a hurricane in 1926.
