If you do, explain yourself. And do it without parroting Tea Party / G.O.P. talking points or "Well, Obama blah blah blah...". Please explain exactly what it is about her that you believe makes her an extraordinary person and the absolute best American to lead the country.

It's a true rarity that extraordinary people that are the absolute best americans end up leading the country. I don't support her though.

shes just another tool used to further promote naivety and ingorance amongst our population. that woman has no place leading this country. it does not matter who is president anyways because some higher power will always be pulling the strings. if she is to be president then its already been decided by a force that will make it so. there are so many outside interests controlling the system now that i dont even give a shit anymore who is actually in office. it will just be a new face on the same machine that no longer represents the common interest.

I hate Obama, but Palin is an absolute joke.

Obamas just a salesman. He sold us pretty well on getting him elected and pushed through a bunch of shit that has served well in plummeting the economy towards a 3rd world hellhole.

I dunno, man. I look back at history and recessions and what not are just cyclical. They're a constant. Seems like every 10-15 years we go through one. Until I see us going to war with China, I'm not convinced.

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Nov 19,2010 2:03pm edited Nov 19,2010 2:04pm
i agree that recessions are cyclical and we go through one about every 10-20 years. but the fact that we are in so much debt (TRILLIONS) and with no foreseeable way of escaping scares me into thinking that it will cause a currency collapse that leads us to a really bad situation that resembles countries like Nigeria and Germany post WW1. this is of course not something i wish to see happen but its an inescapeable truth until a game changer comes along. Putting Palin in office will not provide that. Maybe Ron Paul could do something but he has too many roadblocks stopping him from being elected.

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Nov 19,2010 2:23pm
any tax cuts are just offset by raising or implementing new taxes elsewhere anyways.

It's strange. I know some Europeans, you know, socialists. In general, over there most people accept that taxes are high in order to pay off debt and to pay for the services they receive. The fact that a politician can't get elected if they raise taxes has made it so. It's too far gone now. You can't just hike them up, you need to have a lengthy plan to get the taxes to a more legitimate level. As this happens, prices for consumers will need to follow in the inverse direction.

But, raising taxes needs to happen. I don't understand where else the money is supposed to come from. Maybe that's my own ignorance, but I'm not betting on it.

With the rampant and exorbitant spending from both parties, taxes can only increase. Your analysis is accurate.

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Nov 19,2010 2:36pm
our taxes were already raised unfairly when fuckin Bernanke turned on his fabulous printing press.

Quantitive Easing = Inflation = Tax on Americans.

how much more can we be taxed before we dont have any money left live a comfortable life and avoid 3rd world conditions?

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Nov 19,2010 2:39pm

Anything beyond rhetoric?

legalizing weed is good start. i'd be down to pay an extra tax on weed if it was made more available. also this would save billions of dollars from pursuing and prosecuting offenders.

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Nov 19,2010 2:41pm
I wouldn't really count manufactured inflation as taxation. I count it as fucking retarded, I'm sure I'm with you on that. What that does for us globally completely counteracts anything that we get positively from a legitimate tax.

There's the 'defense' spending problem that nobody ever says anything about. Hundreds and hundreds of military bases around the world for no real reason. Two impossible wars against cultures rather than standing armies. The extreme inefficiency of our military in the first place.

Government contracts, private deals, and a military culture in place since the cold war that are so deep-seated in our government that it's impossible to break it up.

Cut military spending by just 50% and redefine it's goals, you'd have enough money to feed and educate every child in the country that wants it and billions left over.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 19,2010 2:44pm
Here's something that is more important to me. Last year, my health insurance went up $390 a month. in 2011, it's going up another $200-$240 a month with less benefits. The average increase with the increase of all the benefits is over $300 a month. Take $700 out of your pay check a month and see if you can survive. I can not. byebye savings.

i think they are crashing the dollar on purpose to put is in position for a need of global currency. which honestly is not a bad idea given the fact that technology has made it easier to connect and do transactions with the rest of the world. the problem is that if we do switch to global currency how will that translate in terms of the average american's relative worth? i think it would ultimately cut it in half or drastically reduce it.

toggletoggle post by ark at Nov 19,2010 2:48pm
Also, compared to the glaring military spending problem, I could give a fuck less about weed legalization.

Barney Frank and Ron Paul have a defense spending reduction bill in the works but nobody gives a damn about it.

Yeah if healthcare costs don't go down then there goes the social class mobility and a healthy and long-living American service and labor industry. Until that and the military spending issue is fixed, this country is going nowhere. We're still hung up on whether or not we should allow gays to openly serve, ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING. Ahem:

Also, cutting marijuana out of the "war on drugs" would actually save the federal government $8.26 million - that's not including the tax revenue they could make from legalizing and taxing it. Sure, it's definitely nothing compared to wartime spending (which is exorbitant and STILL not enough to outfit our troops with bulletproof vests and Jeeps), but it's nothing to sniff at, either.

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Nov 19,2010 3:00pm

toggletoggle post by Burnsy at Nov 19,2010 3:06pm
$8.26 million is really minimal. That wouldn't make a dent but I also question the accuracy of that figure. Seems a little understated to me. I support legalization of marijuana but Ark hit the nail on the head. The two major issues are military spending and healthcare. Lulz to those who thought the wars would stimulate the economy.

Well as bush, clinton, bush, and soetoro have all proven, you only need to be able to read a teleprompter, nominate CFR and Trilateral Commission members to cabinet posts, and stay just sober enough to do the bidding of the Rothschild/Rockefeller/NWO when they come calling. Easy, end rampant consumerism. People always talk about how Americans need to by more stuff to fix the economy, this is bull shit. Reverse the over compulsion to buy in America and Americanized economies and we won't waste so many resources that could be used for better purposes, petroleum for one.

Until you're ready to live life like the old folks did in the great depression you can only count on endless cycles of boom and bust

but seriously, i meant to say the ideas of the past such as not wasting your money on stupid shit like new shoes every 3 months, bling, fancy cars, going out to eat every day of the week.
