Gummo and Donnie Darko are completely different types of movies. How can you compare them to each other? Both great movies though.

he doesnt go back in time to save just his girlfriend. some argue he goes back in time, others argue that the life we see him live in most of his life is taking place in an alternate universe. so he either goes back in time or back to his real world and decides to stay in his room, even though he knows he's going to get killed, because he knows by him dying there everyone else he knows/loves will be better off

He goes back in time and dies so that slut won't die. Why else would they talk about time travel in the movie.

Donnie Darko is like David Lynch for teens, just not as good.

it takes watching it a few times to piece together what's going on. it's one of my favorites, tho.

It is called Mad World and its by Tears for Fears. Download the original track, because the 80s arrangement with synths completely blows away the lame-o acoustic version on the Donnie Darko soundtrack.

no it doesnt... the Gary Jules version of "Mad World" is much better. hell, the remixed version with the drums is a lot better than the piano version. i can send you both version Succubus... just AIM me sometime ;)

If you turn the commentary track on (the one with Richard Kelly and Jake doing the commenting) and go to where Donnie and Gretchen are in the movies, Jake does the nastiest Christopher Walken impression. All in all, a damn fine movie.
