Mentioned it in another thread about this coming weekend.. was wondering if anyone would like to go on some sort of hike and/or adventure. I know a few people here like to do it, and this weekend should be nice. I may be heading out to the Worcester area this weekend but I'm not opposed to places down in SE Mass where I live (lots of woods). If we get a decent amount of people it should be a good time.. perhaps a party afterwards? I think Yeti wanted to hike, BSV as well. It'll be good for inspiration and rituals.
Let me know of anyones interested.
Possible places :
-Massasoit St Park
-Freetown St Forest
-Myles Standish st park
- perhaps a trip to Dighton Rock or Profile Rock
-Hockomock (not the best idea unless hunting for weird things)
-Any of those places near Worcester (Upton, etc)
Or better yet, we could all go up to the Kancamagus in NH but that would require people to get up early or leave Friday night if you wanted to hike up a mountain. I don't see a bunch of lazy ass metalheads getting up at 7am for a hike haha
I might be out of state this weekend, but if I end up hanging around Worcester you can count me in.
word.. I was hoping these 5 days would be enough time for people to see if they could make it or not. Either way, I plan on going somewhere. As of right now it says the weather will be 80.. Not too hot, not too cold.
Dya- mind erasing sounds interesting. You're all welcome to the herugrim dungeon as well
yes yes yes yes yes yes yes. Saturday is fine with me, i like Steve's idea. as long as someone from Worcester doesn't mind carting my ass around, i'm game for anything.
it would be cool to go someplace i haven't been, all of those mentioned by Jim are mostly unknown to me. but like i said, i'm game for anything, i don't care where i am as long as i'm in the woods.
I hiked out in Glacier National park in Montana. it was one of the best times I had. Well, besides the grizzly we happened upon. That was sketchy. regardless, the views were insane.
i'd love to go on a really long, all day hike. one where we can find a spot, build a fire, walk back in the dark, something like that. an adventure, if you will.

hahaha oh man that infuriates me so much now. with the advent of cellphones came the ability to bail on EVERYTHING, no matter how long it's been planned, to do something else that is sub-par. Unless something stupid happens i am 100% down for this, i'll be keeping in contact as best i can. which means here or email.

That always happens when I plan my trips.
Tony, if I end up doing this, you've got your transportation. Oh yeah and you should come along for the Saco camping trip in September... if you're willing to miss the show that got booked right in the middle of it that is (honestly I'm having 2nd thoughts too but I already got the vaca time from work) :-\
yea nick.. we gotta hang out sometime and catch up on old times.

Yeah, that would be great. I have to go to an old friends graduation party on saturday.. But if you'll be out there after that, i'm free all sunday and monday.
In all seriousness, this shit does sound like a good idea. I actually just went to lost river in NH last weekend. Surprisingly, my post-surgery knee held up pretty good.

I'll be camping on Mount Desert Island in ME. You all lose.

What part of maine is that in again?
There's so many awesome places to go in Maine.
Saturday is fine, i just don't know of anyone else from Worcester who is going, so my transportation is in question. MICHELLE I'M LOOKING IN YOUR DIRECTION.

If the amount of people coming to my area only consisted of you or another person, I can head to worcester. But abaroth chris said he could also carpool Worcester people down because he lives out there
Ohyea ark - I realized I went to that island when I was a kid. It was so nice up there. If you ever want to go on an awesome trip, take that boat from bar harbor to nova scotia. that place is incredible
Sorry Tony, goin away for sure now. But unless you've got shit going on Saturday, August 14th, I'm planning another hike for that day too &can absolutely make sure you have transportation! I just went to Blue Hills the other day. Place was beautiful. Might go there again if not to this other place way up past the North Shore. Anybody wants to tag along, lemme know.
Hey Tony - texted you my number. I may be heading into Woostah tomorrow.. not sure yet. Let me know.
I dont think I'll be able to hike on the 14th but I will be probably attending that 100th MT show on the 12th so I'll see all you worcesterites then.
I'm dying to go back up to the white mountains and kancamagus. have to go back to that magical place. perhaps we could all plan a camping trip sometime in august or september or something.
here's the cue for my horrible quality waterfall clip from mount hale in NH
I'd be down for a hike on the 14th if people are thinking of going then. Tomorrow I'm hiking Monadnock. Probably make a day out of it.
making a day out of hiking monadnock is like making a day out of walking to the corner store. Every time I've climb monadnock, I finish quick and think "what do i do now?"

Have you done the Spellman trail? That one takes a bit longer.
