Sweet!
MassConcerts presents - Triptykon (feat Tom Gabriel Fischer of Hellhammer/Celtic Frost), 1349 (from Norway), Yakuza - 18+ $20adv/$22DOS - Limited number of VIP tickets available at $50
the Triptykon stuff is really heavy and dark...kinda like Monotheist.
I wanna check this out. Monotheist rules.
i do not like that album at all. Celtic Frost never appealed to me in general, i have a couple albums, but they just never clicked for me. same with 1349. what i've heard is just meh.
Born of fire will still happen this night..sucks when these double bookings happen but whichever, what can you do...got some stoner metal going on so it's something different..
Okay, so I thought about driving an hour to check this show out. Then I saw that the POWER HIPSTER STUPID FUCKS CALLED BLACK PYRAMID were added and I instantly said nah. I am sick of these venues catering to the hipster lifestyle. I even saw that they were shitbag paintings of garbage and other horrible attempts at art on the wall for 1000+ dollars across from the upstairs bar. ...AND they have the balls to post a sign next to it saying that it is affordable art. 1 it is only affordable to hipsters, 2 its not art... I met the guys in Black Pyramid once, they are posers and hipsters. Even the fat guy in the band was telling me he just recently got into metal. He said he was into hardcore like hatebreed. So to see them open for 1349 because the middle east wants to draw hipsters that love high on fire and let the night roar, they can go fuck themselves...

welcome to every venue in boston, go to see the bands you want to see, dont go for "the crowd"...its not like this is a "local" show
black pyramid went on at 8:15. for anyone that wants to gie someone an abortion, just have them walk in front of the house speakers during black pyramids set. if there were a baby up inside me, i would have been forcefully removed by the intene loudness that rock and rolled my body when i stood in front of the PA. my appologies to anyone that took offense to me saying the swans werent loud enough last week. i was severely mistaken.
Profound and persistent stomach/abdominal pains and fever since Tuesday morning. Finally went to the hospital and I'm waiting for a CAT scan to see if it is in fact my appendix, which I'd then have removed. Praise the Beast for foxy nurses and dilaudid. Mega-bummed I won't be making the Swans show at the Brooklyn Masonic Temple or the afterparty that Sasha Grey is DJ-ing tomorrow night :(
yakuza was great live. I really liked that doomy song they did, the guitar tone sounded great. 1349 seemed a bit monotonous after a few songs (not surprising). Triptykon killed it. Heavy as fuck

I hear Triptykon did a bunch of Frost jammz in NYC. What did they play tonight?
black pyramid - missed due to traffic and them starting early. im positive they crushed it.
yakuza - kind of interesting kind of boring.
1349 - meh. over rated.
triptykon - delivered.

Good show was good (well, Triptykon anyway..the 1349 bit I did see was decidedly meh and I am glad I spent most of that time at the Green St. Grill down the road) - wish they had done an encore.

Was it Frost on drums w/1349 last night? Someone said it was Tony Laureano?
Yeah man, hail Stenka Razin. Work finally let me take free classes. There's no way I'm paying for that shit anymore.

Knowing that you're into RTS PC games, check out the game "Cossacks." It's a complete rip off of AoE but its European and focusses on Eastern Europe. Pretty rad. Got a copy of it and the expansion pack if you want it.
Anyway, nothing to do with this show, carry on folks
I thought 1349 were OK but they played for at least an hour, which was around 20 minutes too long. Considering how many people seemed to be there just to see them , I guess I can't blame them, though. My impression of them ultimately would have been better with a shorter set. I was amazed at how many people left after 1349 and didn't want to see Triptykon.
Triptykon totally destroyed, imo. They were loud as fuck and relentlessly heavy. I don't usually get all worked up over women in bands ("ZOMG!!1!! A GIRL!!11!!") but damn their bass player was nice to look at, her vampiric appearance adding to the overall atmosphere of the band quite well. An encore would have been nice, but I didn't feel cheated, Triptykon definitely left my ears and brain shattered.
1349 were better than the last time I saw them, but that was a short set, and easier to digest. They started strong, lost me towards the middle, but picked it up at the end. Not bad, not my favourite, but they certainly didn't suck or anything.
Triptykon were totally crushing, oppressive, and heavy as all hell. I like that they started off with a Frost tune, so we all weren't like, "okay, are they gonna do a CF song next? Sometime tonight?" Nah, they were more like, "let's just get this out of the way, right off the bat, a little Procreation of the Wicked for y'all." Circle of Tyrants was also strong. Great set, one of the better bands I can remember seeing in the last few years...

I fingered a girl at this gig who’s pussy smelled like
Burger King. Good
Times.

I got fingered at this show by a guy who's finger smelled like hamburger. I think he was just at work at the burger king around the corner from the middle east, I however just came back from a video shoot that included 7 bbcs.

Hey everyone I remember this show very well because it was my first REAL homosexual experience.
I was in the men's bathroom when a man ironically (could be same employee of Burger King mentioned above with the female being fingered) in a BK worker shirt and slacks entered my stall as I took a shit during Yakuza (asians lol). The man offered to wipe my anus as I was just about finished, since I was already holding merch from all the bands playing plus some 12" vinyl I said yes....I bent over backwards to present my dirty bum hole for cleaning. That is when I heard his zipper unzip and him trying to penetrate me with what might of been the smallest male penis ever...also during this entire encounter all I could smell were the BK onion rings.. Anyhow long story short, I wasn't done pooping and the non-penetrating thrust he was performing was just making my stomach uneasy..the back and forth motion. I felt a fart and it wasn't a fart afterall, I let it go and actually sprayed a huge mass of shit on the man's work shirt and slacks...he ran out of the bathroom..and until today I've yet to really talk about it but since I saw the thread and people remembering the show I figured I would add my own experience.
