there's definitely more than 5 people that technically ARE edge. They don't feel the need to claim it because they'd prefer to be looked at more 3 dimensionally. Like i said before, i luv my edge friends, but lets face it, they get bad names/stereotypes from things like "a firestorm to purify". After taking up serious dranking around 9, I actually quit booze, weed, and drugstore speed (amongst miscellaneous extra experiments) at 15 so I'd actually end up finishing high school. (I was like practically the only dude I grew up with that did, lulz.) Didn't touch a thing all throughout high school, so of course I was everybody's friggin' trip doctor, got to be the only one in a crowd of 15ish NOT fucked on acid and/or Robitussin on about a million nights, etc. My folks' place was like THE place to go and get fucked up, 'cause A) we had band space in the garage, and B) my folks knew I wasn't getting fucked up (and that I wouldn't have bothered lying about it if I were), and so didn't really care what anybody else was doing. It was usually annoying as fuck (if occasionally fucking hilarious) but it beat hanging out with straightedge kids and playing Genesis listening to Strife. LOL Finished HS, broke up with my dumb girlfriend and got the fuck outta Dodge. Moved straight in with like semi-professional pot smokers, tattooists and heathens in Mission Hill, broke "edge" (lulz) the night I moved in on King Cobra 22s (had the label stuck to my head and was screaming "I AM THE KING COBRA COMMANDER" by the end of the night), was pouring drinks at the bar-none worst dive in Boston within 6 months at the age of 19. Free booze, drugs and 2am leftovers. LOL When I make a decision, I don't fuck around, I commit, no matter which direction it's in.

I was not surprised he was edge. Mark did not say a word about it, and neither did I. It was sometime ago, but at that point I asked if he wanted a beer as I was going to the bar anyway. He simply said, nah, I don't drink, or something to that effect. He did not say he was edge right there. I didn't care if he didn't drink. I shrugged it off without much thought. It was later that night at the show that it came up, but not in an asshole way from him. Lets just say he never made it a point to tell me at the time because it's not a big deal.

On the other hand I have met milly edgers and if you offer them something without knowing the fact, they get pissed and go on and on about it. None of them ever tried to fight me, but I have seen these homos beat down people for smoking a cigarette or drinking a beer. Gay.
