I have to agree that fixing the economy takes time, at least as much time as it takes to fuck it up. Shit was going downhill for a decade really, for everyone but those with millions in the stock market, and by late 2008 when it crashed, everything just froze all over. I remember that period of time and it fucking blew, I couldn't find a guitar student for months for the first time in almost fifteen years of doing this, my drummer couldn't find any work during the day doing anything at all. If things hadn't changed from that, who the fuck knows what things would be like at this point. It's a slow climb, but I'll take an up arrow to a down arrow any day, especially after Main Street has been sliding downhill for most of the last ten years.

Also, we do have well over 50,000 troops out of Iraq since last year, with only 99,000 or so remaining there, which is a pretty sizeable change right in accordance with the withdrawal plan. This bears mentioning especially given the question that this thread starts with.
